gilardino is not crap. still a straight swap is not realistic imo. especially since we can get 30m from lyon from trez.

thats a rumour. i dont even thing lyon can afford that kind of money to begin with. and anyway, gilardino is worth every pence of what trez is worth..

lyon's president is extremelly wealthy and obsessed with winning the cl, lyon can afford it.

on the latter i couldn't disagree more. gilardino never really impressed me tbh. there's a difference in scoring 20+ goals for parma, where everyone plays for you, and for milan, juve and the likes. gilardino is stil unproven on the big stage, and the fact that he is struggling when he has pirlo, kaka and seedorf behind him says enough.

I also believe Lyon is very wealthy and that they can afford 30 million € for Trezeguet, especially because I think Trezeguet would make a great impact on Lyon´s chances in Champions League.

However, if we send Trez to Lyon, we won´t be getting Gilardino for sure, Milan is not naive.

I would propose a swap Trezeguet for Gilardino and Seedorf/Gourcouff/Jankulovski.

i like gourcuff, but i don't think milan would let him go. both of them for trez would be unrealistic as well.

I think Gilardino is a great player and is worth more than Trezeguet due to age difference.
I know Trezeguet gave wonderful seasons with Juventus and I do NOT want him to leave. He is a needed player in Juventus. But the problem is if he himself wants to leave.
I think he might consider the Lyon offer but I wish he wont. After all I do not think Milan will sell Gilardino nor he wants to leave...
But lets wait and seee

Gilardino'd fit in perfectly in our style of play, with the wingers and support strikers revolving around one main striker( Gilardino) trying to make him score our goals. He'd be able to play more of a role similar to the one he had at Parma.

Gilardino-Shevchenko already was too much of the same, let alone Inzaghi-Gilardino; who are more or less the same type of player.

I read in the Financial Times this summer that French league has recently negotiated themselves a massive television right with Canal +. So regardless of whether Lyon president is wealthy or not there are more money in French league to spend to bring back its stars. As a point in case, they are not loosing their underrated youngsters to a mid-size team in Spain, Italia or England such as Celta, Blackburn, Torino etc, as they used to. Lets not forget French league was pretty competitive till 1997-1998.

But discounting Gila based on current form is ridiculous just as over emphasizing good run of form Drogba is enjoying. Track record do matter and ther are more indicative of players ability than run of 10 matches or so. And Gila has shown me he has the skills. And playing with Inzaghi is very difficult. I have never seen a player who play enjoy forging partnership with Inzaghi beside Bobo. We all know what they are upto when not on the pitch so he doesnt count.

This is just some journalist's imagination !
He saw Gilardino underperforming, he saw Milan needs someone who can actually score goals, he heard Trez might leave us, and he got himself an article !

I have the same feeling like FIFAWM. The only one at the moment that can replace trez is Huntelaar.

Dont forget if we really like to have Gila we can buy him for around 10 mil if Milan will have his right Forward. But with this swap we will make Milan better and this is very stupid for the next Serie A Season. Trez will join or Manu or Lyon i suppose. It will be better for us that he leave Italy if he leave Juve.

And i read that Milan is looking for Ryan Babel and for Nicklas Bendtner to risolve thery problems. Bendtner is a awesome Talent but Babel is still overrated.

Gilardino is awesome. Underrated by so many ppl. Despite the fact Inzaghi took his spot towards the end of the season, Gila still managed to score 17 goals. The 04-05, he scored 24 goals, 1 of which was an amazing bicyclekick goal that prevented Parma from being relegated. In 03/04 he scored 23.

I like Trez and I hope he stays, but if he left, Gila would be on the top of my list. Young, Italian, and very good. He is also a Juventino.
