Oh,my friend,you like planes,ha?
Well,F-14 never showed its potential but in TOPGUN movie(there were just one air clash during the Libya's war 1986.),and F-15 is really fantastic,I like him too. With that new modification,F-15E strike eagle, become a real USA fist.
F-22 is some kind of successor of F-15,but produced in STEALTH tech.Rusians definitely lag! They do not have money for final phases of air defenceany project.
It is really bizarre that your fav is not EFA-2000?
Tell me one thing, how does it spell Rammstein?
Planes? There are one of my passions.
The F-14 was designed as a long-range interceptor, the Phoenix missile was developed specifically for it. It is the longest range air to air missile ever made, which can be fired up to 50 nautical miles from its target. You are right, it never showed its true potential, it was not supposed to, it struck fear in the hearts of those who dared face it. If it had faced the terror it was supposed to, we had better be at fvcking WWIII. The Tomcat did, and still does, its duty by not ever making its presence known, for if it had, the Phoenix along with its radar, the most developed at the time, would have caused extensive damage. When the F-14 came out, the radar it had allowed the pilot to target up to six different targets at any single time, push ONE button, and fire all six missiles from the plane. Launching one missile per target. The Phoenix is something to the extent of 8 feet long, and like 350 lbs. A pretty hefty fighting instrument.
The F-15 is probably the true work-horse of the modern Air Force. The F-15, along with the Navy's F-18, is probably the best all around air to air to air/air to ground fighters, with the ability to absolutely control the skies with their air to air superiority, then drop both air to ground missiles like the bunker busters used in the first and now second gulf war, shown extensively on CNN, along with mass capacity cluster type weapons. The F-15 and 18 probably are the best fighters of their generation, along with the Su-27 of Russia just behind them, although the SU-27 is meant for a more air to air role. The F-15 was developed after the Mikoyan-Gurevich (MiG) 29-Fulcrum was introduced in the late 80's. The US needed an airframe with the ability to own people in the air and on the ground, and able to match the Fulcrum in the air. The Fulcrum was able to fly through the painted blue sky at nearly mach 3, and the 15 is not only able to do that, but tack on an extra 350 MPH taking it to near mach 3.5. The fastest fighter jet known to man right now.
You say the Russians are behind in technology, not really, their jets are made more rugged and hardcore than ours ever will be. Before every flight of any US fighter, the runway is covered by persons looking for ANYTHING, such as coins, nails, or anything which can damage the 60 million dollar aircraft's engines. The Russian aircraft are made to go from 120 degrees F to sub-zero degrees, and their engines can suck up anything short of a domesticated cat before even flaring up a light on the instrument panel. True the Russians can't touch us today with the F-22 whose internal weapons stores and variable thrust technology on the engines cannot be matched, but I ask of you, who was the first company to introduce the variable thrust technology on an airframe? Answer: Sukhoi.
The F-22 is either the greatest fighter ever devised, or the greatest waste of money known to any government or nation. The F-22 will, suposedly, own the skies in the years to come, but its job it to do something both the 15 and the 18 already do, OWN THE SKIES. The 22 is a huge waste of stealth technology, where it isn't needed, and also a waste of money. The cost of one 22 could build you 4 14's, 15's, 16's, or 18's.
So is the Raptor the greatest plane ever devised? I don't know, no one does, it has yet to prove itself in battle. But I know one thing, if I buy one, I will own the biggest, fastest, and most deadly Ferrari ever made. Because that really is what the 22 is. The 15 is a Dodge Ram with a supercharger, the 14 is a BMW M3 without a sixth-gear, able to coast along at mach 2+, but not near as fast as the 15, although take into consideration that the 18 is made for more of a ground attacking role. The 22 has yet to prove itself to me, that is all I have to say.
You spelled Rammstein correctly.
Cheers, my man.
