I dont get how this guy is a starter at us and the German NT. What does he offer nowadays? Can't pass, tackle or score. I think he has been very fortunate in his career to play alongside Xabi Alonso, Schweinsteiger Kroos and Pjanic/Pirlo because he can't do jack $#@! himself.

I thank him for the contribution in these last 20 mins but doesnt change the fact he was by far the worst player on the pitch for us in the first 70. Jeered by the home fans as well.

Great assist, and a well taken goal, but he's a frustrating and, at times, infuriating player. Slow and cumbersome in possession, a couple of misplaced passes in dangerous situations, and for all his "physical presence" he hardly tackles or gets involved in midfield tussles; always seems a step behind. We should be looking to get an upgrade in the summer.
