You see a weak aspect of both players here. Matuidi technically weak pass, and if it had been any other player he would have got away with it but Khedira is a tortoise and the ball easily gets away from him.

Odd, he looked like a man possessed for about 20 mins then dissolved into a non-entity.
yep, Khedira is slow, and a no tackler. there is no way he was gonna save that ball with so much space around him. he did the best he could do actually, and if Caceres shots one second later, he would have recovered and been in position to challenge the shot. it was a great shot too tbf

Please explain how Matuidis poor pass is his fault?

You have no clue how football is played if you think that's on matuidi, khedira is the only static player in the action, plus he's the one who should be looking for the pass. To make things worse he doesn't try to close down caceres or tackle the shot, in one word: useless
You have no clue if you think that playing a ball in front of Khedira when there is a defender right there is smart. No Khedira has a brain so he sat in the hole to distribute.

Khedira being an intelligent footballer is a myth as well. Zero thoughts in his game.

He goes for the easiest option all the time, and make runs forward after making passes instead of owning the midfield and be available there.

Also can he get some love for that awesome pass to Licht on the second goal? Brilliantly took a touch out wide and held it up for licht to get back and make the run. If Pjanic does that people sing his praise. If Khedira made the pass Matuidi made he would get slaughtered. Hes not the best but lets at least be fair

Thats actually the opposite of what he did on the Caceres goal. He sat in the wole. Also do you honestly think what runs he is making every game is not dictated by the coach? Thats Allegri not him.

Atthe end of the day there is one genius who hads weighed in on this matter and hes smarter than us. MAX

Nope. Marchisio never does that for instance neither does Bentancur nor Matuidi (the latter surges forward with the ball, doesn't roam where strikers are without it).

That's simply Khedira's playing style.

Have you ever thought maybe Max tells them to make those runs and they cant do it which is why they get benched or does max just look the other way? Also Marchisio makes runs forward as well and Bentancur doesnt play the same position and Matuidi is on the other side and a different player. Do I really need to break down basic ass tactics? Fucking elementart stuff

The problem with Khedira is that with him at the central of midfield, we can easily be overrun when we play the big teams. I won't put all the blame on him for the loss in the CL final but he is partly it. Matuidi reminds me of an inferior Vidal; runs around a lot and gets stuck in. Despite his flaws, I can see the contribution he brings and we need these sort of energetic players when we play the big teams. The game has evolved and its increasingly beginning to rely on pace and stamina.

This is Sami's last season here, but the goal was more a fault of Matuidi and our last defender (Benatia?) than him. Khedira could have closed down the shot faster, but Caceres fired a rocket that was destined for goal.
Benatia seemed the most surprised from this brainfart of a play and so he was caught in two minds. He was more useful to the striker than the keeper.

Would be fantastic if we can get some money for Khedira. Maybe 10-20 mils from Asia?

Vidal rarely had the ball at his feet. He made runs up and got back really well. Im not saying hes the best but he does a lot of good. Excellent pass today to set up winning goal. Occupies space really well and drags defenders away from other players and stops passing lanes. Hes the best we have right now and yes Vidal was the one originally to make those runs up from the right side and not with the ball

I blame Matuidi much more on that goal. It was a terrible pass, and it was played in a dangerous area of the field. Khedira didn't cover himself in glory though, he looked slow AF trying to recover his position and chase Caceres.

Still, I thought he had a good game. Involved in the build up in all of our goals, no? He's played a lot worse than this before.

Disgusting player. Slothami Jogira needs to be nothing more than a bench option. If we can get money for him, definitely sell. We need players with more pace, hustle, and a direct approach in midfield. I fucking miss Vidal. What a pathetic replacement; a huge downgrade.

:agree:
Pretty bad game by Blaise in general. Our midfield is clueless without an anchor. Pjanic or Claudio should play always, Bentancur is not there yet.

But look at the big picture were it not for that terrible pass at the same moment when Khedira was taking a nap during an official match, we wouldn't have taken a bitchslap to wake us up, to wake Dybala up. Is it a turning point in his career with Juve? Will we see the Dybala from the opening months? It remains to be seen and we will all have Matuidi and Khedira to thank for.
