I used to play football in my secondary school days and there is this one teammate of mine who is just another regular boy. He did not have much to say, no strong feelings about playing in any position. He seldom make any silly mistakes by trying to do fancy stuffs, or in fact he does not even try to do fancy stuffs. I did not even remember him having a great pass or making a key tackle. All he did was receive the ball, and then play it to the safest option.

Nobody said he was a bad footballer, and nobody said he was a good footballer. But he is always the player that we struggle to remember who is missing when we get on the bus. He is that insignificant.

He reminds me of Khedira, without an ugly beard.

:D

On a serious note, Pjanic and Marchisio together would be the best option.

Khedira in all competitions this season is 5th in goals, tied at 5th with Marchisio in assists, 2nd in minutes played only behind Higuain (even ahead of Buffon), but hes not flashy enough so people dont like him

This is what Khedira is. If he's boring then he's the most boring player in the world. But he's useful enough. He's always in the right spot tactically even though he doesn't offer much nowadays. He's carved out of German efficiency.

In a 2 man midfield he's fine right now. You could put Pogba there and probably the team would be worse. That's just the nature of that position. Doing nothing is half of the point while playing there.

In the future though, I'd prefer an upgrade.

Although last game he did push himself really high up the pitch knowing he wouldn't get the ball but it allowed Higuain to touch it a couple times right behind him. It's a cliche but he is intelligent. He's just not dynamic at all.
