It's difficult to judge him when the rest were even more poor around him. In a midfield where all that was used by opposition was brute force and not anyone physical to combat it then these are the players who often struggle.

Yeah, the only thing Khedira's lacking imo is a bit of presence. He has the physique for it, just needs to impose himself more.

We used to thrive off physical matches like this one, when we had Vidal, Tevez and also Licht in his prime. Imagine last night's midfield facing the Atletico team we faced in 2014.

You think he will look bad in the CL? I really dont get your logic. Its not like he didnt do well for Germany in International tournaments and also for Madrd. We were overrun today nut he still could have had a goal or two and played fairly well. He needed to have someone behind him that was more defensive but thats not to cover for some fatal flaw
The two teams plays a very different system to us. Never said he's a bad player, he is not a world beater either. He's Pirlo like slow. He doesnt contribute defenisvely like he should. He makes intellignets runs and create space, but he struggle to finish. Yesterday and the sevilla game, he should've taken more responsabilities, And made him available and not hide behind defences, leaving Pjanic isolated.

Imagine a rotated team against a major CL opponent ?

next on the list : Imagine Barcelona going against madrid with the heavely rotated team that lost against alaves

His offensive movement is spectacular in the box, he could teach a few things to Mandzukic.

However, the execution of his movements when kicking the ball is soooooo slow.

And he missed 2 clear cut chances in 2 games in a row... cant rely on him to score.

Also, I have the feeling his offensive movement leaves the team exposed in the midfield, specially when he's playing with Pjanic as a regista. We need a quick guy to cover him, and thats NOT Pjanic. Only Lemina can do that currently.

Finally, rest him the next game. He's been playing too many matches in a row. Allegri is rotating the wrong guys. Rest him.

So do you think we depend on some super fast player to help out? I think right now we wre missing an elite passer of the ball. Not just a Pirlo but a Marchisio to help slow and speed the game up when necessary. Someone that can direct the midfield from the regista role. Pjanic did a very poor job there against Inter if you ask me and Asamoah couldnt hold the ball well at all. So yes Khedira didnt contribute with his positioning and runs offensively because we would either dribble or lose the ball. Defensively he isnt a ball winner but if you notice people attack the Asamoah side much more. There is a reason for that. He is positioned well most of the time unless its a bad giveaway and hes cought up. And yes I agree Vidal could have gotten back quicker but thats not the problem its the symptom.
Lemina needs to be back at DM until big Cheese returns and play Pjanic

Yes and like last year our midfield was disassembled and we are relying on the one player from the season before to perform. Khedira is doing better than Pogba did in this role last year so lay off until we are clicking and the midfield is beack. When we have Marchisio behind pjanic and Khedira everyone will have a very different view of the mf I think

I have the impression that his offensive movement, as good as it is, leaves our midfield unprotected, specially when we play Pjanic as a regista.

We really need a real DM who can do great amounts of running and covering space, like Marchisio was before and like Lemina could be.

This is not a critic to Khedira, this characteristic is showing to be fundamental to the team. The criticism is drawn to Allegri, who needs to realise he will expose defense everytime he plays Pjanic in the front of defense.
