He's got great technique and a cool head under pressure. Makes some really smart runs forward. He's not exactly a like for like Vidal replacement. He doesn't have the speed and the intensity to match Vidal as a tackling midfielder. Not necessarily a bad thing, Khedira just has a more conservative playing style.

Imo with this guy we are better playing against teams who also have strong midfield as we are able to keep possession better, all of our starting cms are great with the ball. With Arturo it was different as he wasnt the best passer also Pirlo in his last season couldnt handle the pressure sometimes.
Right now we have Dybala who gives us Pirlo freekicks (he is not that good as him in direct freekicks of course but imo he is alot better with crosses) and Khedira who is calm on the ball.

Only problem with Khedira so far has been injuries. Don't know if his injuries were causes by the preseason schedule like with other players or if it has been a continuation of his injury problems from last two years. He had a ligament injury two years ago, but none of the niggling ones from last year or the couple from this season were knee problems. And he wasn't injury-prone before. So, there's definitely hope.

Injuries and two games aside, he has been excellent. Has played very well in every game except vs Fiorentina, where he was lacking match fitness (1st back game after his 2nd injury), and the 1st match after the winter break vs Verona (might have been just an off game or winter break didn't help when he was trying to reach optimum fitness). Was good and made a huge difference even in the first Sevilla game where he was thrown in after being out for two months.

I was surprised by how good he is on a tactical and decision-making level. He's always in the right place at the right time, makes the right decisions, and doesn't make any mistakes.

He's also very professional, has leadership qualities, and has a ton of CL and international experience. I'm sure these were taken into account when he was signed.

Very good signing. Will turn out to be a great signing on Bosman if his luck improves with injuries.
