I criticize Khedira regularly but take a look at the options ffs

A crippled Marchisio and a total waste of space like Sturaro. That leaves you with Bentancur who is young and talented but he's still raw and makes a lot of mistakes. It's just safer to go with Khedira for the moment. Yes he offers literally nothing but atleast there is some degree of safety when he is playing.

Im Khedira's biggest critic but we dont have any other options. A fully fit Marchisio should always start and Bentacur will replace him next reason he is too raw right now.

No one will convince me that he adds more as a RCM than Bernardeschi. The amount of opportunities he stifles in transition cannot possibly be outweighed by his defensive contribution. Even if Bernardeschi costs an extra goal every 3 matches, I guarantee he could contribute to an extra 2 or 3.

This is just taking into account the good of the team, nevermind the fact that Bernardeschi is not developing on the bench. Try to improve the team and Bernardeschi at the same time. Seems a no-brainer to *at least try it*.

Exactly how I feel. No CL title with Sami in there.

I mean Genoa showed absolutely nothing on offense so why not have Berna in his MF spot. At least he can put the ball on goal with a shot, unlike Sami.
Same idea with Costa and Cauds being in there. More speed and playmaking talent. Won enough scudettos with the get a 1-0 lead and hang on. Need to show more offense flow to get a CL title, which is priority #1!

And maybe with Berna in there, MrFatty will get more scoring opportunities.

Or Allegri should just deal with the fact that the central midfield can't (and shouldn't) be the focal point with the players available.

I think Allegri once said something about needing a strong presence in the air in CM. Thats all I can think of :boh:

Wasn't that the point of switching to a 4231 around this same time last season after the three man midfield was mediocre?

Anyway it seems to me that Allegri is a man who wants three players in the midfield. That he wants it to be the focal point which begs the question as to why our transfer policy did not more so reflect that. The acquisition of Matuidi helps, but you get the feeling we could've maybe done more
Has Berna ever played there before? I like the idea
Pretty sure he played both center and wide midfielder for Fiorentina. Didn't witness, but I remember his rumored versatility being a selling point.

thanks for saying that.

when i say it is trolling according to some exzperts.

Sadly it seems he is the only reliable midfielder we have and well we have to use him.. but i hope this is his last year as a starter
having said that i prefer bernas left foot ready to syrike from the right wing. If he will go to the midfield and stop shooting then no.... unless he pulls a nedved and turns into a midfield cannon, then no.

There's simply no need to play Khedira when you already have Matuidi alongside Pjanic. Matuidi is a defensive minded midfielder (not a pure DM, but a similar style of play to Gattuso). Pjanic is a deep lying midfielder like Pirlo. Our third midfielder needs to be someone who can carry the ball forward and feed our forwards.

I'm talking about a player like Pogba, De Bruyne, Modric or Iniesta. Khedira doesn't offer that. Berna could probably play this role better.
