Sagnol and Zebina both didn`t impress me. From what I`ve seen they are two medicore players and we should look for better players
also we should be looking for a new CB and I don`t want Barzagli as I see him as the new Legro
Well ,the problem is that every damn defender could be recognized as new Legro.

That isn't true. As I stated in a previous post Legrottaglie had ONE good season before we signed him. At 26 he had performed consistently well for only ONE season at a small club. He was unproven and the Juventus management knew this but they took a risk on him, a risk that didn't pay off. Gallas, Chivu and to a lesser extent Barzagli have been playing good football for years now.

Any chance of getting him at the end of the season do you think?

Well, He've said it lot of times that he would want to play under Capello. If Capello was to continue next year, then I have a big hope for Christian Chivu to Join us in the Summer.

Well Zebina IS asking more money, so if we get Sagnol I see no reason why we should keep Zebina..

Or d you want to give him a raise?
Forget about the raise, just let him go.

We have more than enough cover with Sagnol coming in now.

Category: Transfer

Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed today that Willy Sagnol will join Juventus on a free at the end of the season. "It’s out of our hands," he said.

The defender had been linked to the Turin giants for weeks and Rummenigge’s announcement confirmed a move that had been expected for some time.

"I have a strong attraction for one of the leading clubs in the world," hinted the full-back two weeks ago, before Rummenigge declared the transfer on Tuesday.

"Unfortunately, after Robert Kovac, Juve are going to rip another player away from us for free," moaned the Bayern official.

"It’s out of our hands, there’s nothing we can do. We simply cannot compete economically with the Bianconeri."

Sagnol is the first of a number of players, including Germany captain Michael Ballack and Brazilian Ze Roberto, set to leave the Bavarian club for nothing in the summer after Bayern introduced a more stringent wage policy.

The France defender, who is expected to announce his move to Italy imminently, will sign a four-year contract with the Turin club worth £1.7m a season.

Source: Football Italia

Sell Zebina for a useful 5m. We got him for free and we're bringing in his replacement, who is a better player, for free. We improve the squad and make a 5m profit as well. Sounds like a clever piece of dealing to me.

I really can't explain what happened with Legro when he came here.
But the problem 2003/04 was our total defending system.Lippi simple didn't have a choice except of rotating the defenders...in that situation Montero and Iuliano gave their worst seasons,Thuram was awful as DR so Lippi moved him where he is today (DC) , Legro(unexplained syndrome),Tudor very uncertain....the only change from that situation is Cannavaro---that man gave us amazing stability.

I'm not sure we'll get £5m for him in today's market though.

It depends who's interested really.

Legro was poor but we only gave him one season, if he'd had more time he may have turned out alright.

Legrottaglie just wasn't that good. He has been mediocre throughout his career bar the 02-03 season at Chievo.

He didn't exactly set the world alight with his performances at Bologna and Siena when he left Juve though, did he?

True, but it's hard for a defender to stand out at struggling side like that. You're more likely to be noticed when you're flying high with little Chievo. ;)
