Looking at the forces (amount and type) they committed to Kiev in the first days tells you they didn't plan to occupy it at that stage. Even an army private wouldn't attempt to occupy a city like Kiev in that manner, it's impossible.

It's was to achieve a very specific goal, maybe like RUS said to get to Zelensky or sabotage specific facilities or HQ's
It was a plan from the start - to force Zelensky to leave the country, it was reported a month ago
Fugitive President Viktor Yanukovych is currently in Minsk, the Kremlin is currently preparing him for a special operation, according to Ukrainian intelligence.

Russians just dropped a bomb in the remaining hospital in Mariupol. Something like 200-300 civilians were hiding there. But of course, we can't sell Ukraine even fucking old ass Leopard 1.

Upd. These are the people that were hinding there. It's from yesterdays video. I am afraid, they are all dead now.

Tell the folks in here about how Russia cynically deports Ukrainians to Russia.

It would be nice if some big NATO countries stopped shuffling their feet and sent us weapons. That's all we are asking, sell us guns, and we will do everything else. Europe won't need to worry about Russia anymore. Just give us the tools to do it. Russia is not a superpower, and it should be obvious now. It's an archaic suicidal sect that rejects the modern world but at the same time craves products of modernity – iPhones, Internet, etc. In this aspect, it has all the elements of fundamental Islamic extremists, except for Islam.
It blows my mind that NATO countries couldn't provide some jets to Ukraine. The Ukrainian military and people are doing very well in spite of being outnumbered and having 1 arm tied behind their backs because of a lack of air and sea superiority.

More info on this. ^

Not the most impressive since the country is not known for its military, but better than nothing. I'm suspecting that it may also take time to deliver

The Canadian Army’s main artillery gun is the M777 howitzer, firing 155-millimetre shells, more than 30 of which were acquired from the United States starting in 2005.
Earlier this month Zelenskyy released a list of equipment he said the Ukrainian military needed to fight Russia, including 155-millimetre heavy artillery guns and ammunition.
However, unlike some of the weapons already donated to Ukraine, the M777s remain very much in use. In response to Russia’s attack, the government recently deployed one M777 unit to reinforce a Canadian-led NATO battlegroup in Latvia.
Retired lieutenant-general Andrew Leslie, who served as an artillery officer, said Canada could send M777s to Ukraine. However, he suggested the guns would be vulnerable to Russian assaults.
“The M777 gun crews are out in the open and they're towed by light-skinned vehicles,” he said. “So they're very vulnerable to fighter jets to attack helicopters and to relatively sophisticated forces such as the Russians have.”

Has NATO actually provided aircraft now? I remember hearing that could be considered a very serious escalation since aircraft are not strictly defensive, could be used offensively by Ukraine to attack sites in Belarus or Russia

NATO is the bunch of pussies who are scared of "WW3". There will be no WW3, just gift the stuff to ukrainians, they will do the job.

As they should be. Even a minor chance of escalation with Russia, a nuclear armed power who we've had numerous close calls with in the past, isn't worth it over Ukraine.

I hope Ukraine wins but I'm not dying for you, Ivan.

Ok, lets imagine that Ukraine lost this war, Russian took full control over it, after it Putin's moves into Moldova and Belarus becomes part of Russia, what you are going to do next? He'll be able to provoke Poland, Romania, Baltic countries for 24/7, then what? You still be scared of WW3?
