read a bit of Russian propaganda today.
Putin in his war declaring speech (for some reason though they call it "the special military operation" and never say war, which is rather funny, at least to me

) had several points on why Russia have to attack Ukraine:
The expansion of NATO
NATO an evil empire of lies
The rotten values of the West
Neonazis in Ukraine
Genocide in Ukraine
Terrorism from Ukraine
Now Lukashenko says that if not for the Ukraine invasion, bombs would be falling in Belarus

and Lavrov says that Russia had no choice, but to react to prevent Ukraine from laying hands on nuclear weapons

I wonder what else they come up with as the war continues? Do Russian population really believe all these? Or do they believe a part of it and accept that Kremlin is openly lying about the rest, but continue to believe for some parts? Because sweet Jesus, it takes a special kind of person to believe all of that, brainwashed or not. And once you see that they're lying about one thing, doesn't it make you want to question the whole narrative?
