Vietnam was a horrific mistake, Cuba a horrific mistake (supporting a tyrant for so long there too pre-Castro), Iran, Guatemala. US made so many mistakes and did a lot of shitty things post-WW2.

But that doesn’t make it any less idiotic to come out in 2022 defending/excusing/rationalizing Putin’s actions with “what about the US doing this in 1960!!!” There’s no place for that.
I fully agree, I'm also not the one shitting on the Americans in this topic regarding the Russian invasion. Actually totally opposite.

Or; the US couldve helped rebuild the soviet union instead of pushing brinksmanship from the get go. The issue with ussr isnt communism, its that it was completely closed around itself and had to balance rebuilding while keeping up with armaments to ensure MAD. The ideology itself is besides the point here, the situation was destined to fail without help from the only country that truly profited from WW2.

The above was pretty much ruled out a few years after WW2. And wouldve been the only ‘happy’ ending without complete US world hegemony.

how is that for revisionism?

Treating the USSR like it was some petulant child without agency.

Still seeing a lot of reports that Russia isn't making much progress, or as much as they thought. If I was a hardcore Russia supporter and Putin fellator, I would be super disappointed and pissed right now. Not many bombs deployed over Kiev, planes getting shot down, electricity and internet still on, troops trying to march down main street like a bunch of tards, Zelenskyy still motivating the country, invaders running out of food and fuel stuck on roads in the middle of nowhere, et cetera. My buddies and I could have come up with these "tactics" over a few too many martinis just looking at a map, and the closest thing I've come to serving in the military is playing COD a decade ago. It's actually pathetic, thankfully. Hope it continues.

These clowns are such low-IQ tards, it's like they unleashed a bunch of chimps on Ukraine.

I despise Nazism and what it caused.

But it doesn't remove the Russians from equal guilt. Sure, they pushed the Germans out of the occupied nations, but they never liberated them as some would like to claim.

They just replaced one authoritarian regime with another. Communism under the Soviet Union was equally bad for most of it's history.
i would argue even worse, if you consider what happened after the second world war also. Hitler and his ideology was at least removed somewhat, Communism was not.

I'm not sure that that the Russians getting frustrated is a good sign . They might have been trying to minimize Ukrainian casualties but if they feel that they are losing, they could switch to heavy warfare.
All the best Kopanja - stay strong, bro.

How the hell can anyone be "neutral" in the current situation anyway? :wallbang:

Because current internet age has bred a mentality of pompous contrarian halfwits who wanna validate their insignificant existence by saying nonsense online for the sake of it, because its the cool thing, and they allergic to rationality or nuance. That doesnt give them enough attention.

General Patton wrote in a personal letter he isn't so sure if we helped defeat the right enemy in ww2, (Meaning Russians)
but communism, a way to control people and monopolize played into the narrative of the west at the time in keeping the unions under check and at peace.
The west gave no fucks about the lives of those people thereafter, it was only when they saw the USSR is becoming too powerful that they tried measures in bringing it down in the name of "liberation". Regan didn' tear down the wall to free people (that was only a byproduct of that act) but he did it to weaken them..he did that but still not enough to change the situation and bring balance.
England with it's 1200 years of experience in history at being number one at occupation and enslaving doesn't see fit to get involved too much right now because it knows it will mean casualties and too much expense (in return for little)..but the mess they left there back then led by that warmonger Churchill and the same people they left to their own device vs the USSR is now threatening to be cause for another world war.

says the one hoping to kill 144m people
Dude I get you're in shit because of the situation
But honestly you could pass the next 24hours citing every word of the dictionary to insult me and I wouldn't give as much as attention as squashing a mosquito.
    Get it?
You can avoid to argue or reply me. You can put me in ignore or you can insult me for what? cause I'm not on any side?
You're right I'm italian and know jackshit about the war and I'm happy that way.
I'm happy I can talk rationally. I'm happy I'm not some russian supporter or anything.
Oh also threating to kill me after is over is very mature :D now If I were some 14yrs old kid I would send you the adress telling something like I'm gonna be here waiting you
    Really like in classic Internet.
Instead why don't you chill and put me in ignore list?
All of it is Russian propaganda. Just look at the statement the Russian embassy in Canada put out.

if you’re stupid enough to believe it, you’re beyond help.
