Russian's repressive laws let them turn you into the extremist for protesting And if you was put into the list of extremists all you bank accounts will be blocked, you cant use it anymore, all your money will be frozen
Not protesting now in the millions increases the chances of living in a military dictatorship in the future.
What are you going to do? Will the Russians accept more and more restrictions? You will become entirely dependent on China.

What negotiations do you think would be accepted by an invading army with the intent of annexing the nation or installing their own government?
Тhat`s not even remotely close to Putin intentions

All he wanted was the agreement between USSR and US to be respected, in which they gave guarantees that NATO will not expand towards east.
Unfortunately, we are witnessing exactly the opposite and nato is practically expanding up to the russian border and getting closer and closer to Moscow.

As Putin said, Russia has red lines and their red lines have been crossed.

Yeah but couple of thousands in 145m country is nothing unfortunately
It isn’t, but you know the 3.5% rule, right?

https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20190513-it-only-takes-35-of-people-to-change-the-world

Now you might argue Russia isn’t like any other country, and you’d be right. But you don’t have to get a majority to topple Putin. You just need them to influence a military policeman, etc., etc. which ultimately leads to commanders looking the other way if the general says the guy is out, etc. Next thing you. know, the military can be securing the departure of a despot.

I’m living in a country that got rid of their authoritarIan dictatorship 48 years ago by doing pretty much this. So it’s possible.

Nobody gave any guarantees to Russia, instead it's Russia who have promised to respect and protect Ukraine and Its borders in exchange for nuclear weapons

even if that were true, USSR is not a thing anymore so that agreement would be void.

NATO never signed a treaty with Russia saying that they wouldn’t expand eastward. Russia on the other hand violated the Budapest memorandum of 1994 by attacking Ukraine.
Besides, Riga is closer to Moscow than Kviv is so Ukraine being a part of NATO won’t bring them ‘closer and closer’ to Moscow.

Then what is the end goal here if that isn't his intention? Because that's certainly the only two ways it could end in a "beneficial" way for them.
