Fiorentina manager Delio Rossi has admitted his team will require a first-class performance to stand a chance of bringing Juve’s unbeaten run to an end. The 51-year-old, who stepped into the Viola hot seat in November, appreciates the significance of the encounter and believes his side will give their absolute maximum to lift themselves back into the top half of Serie A.

Speaking at a press conference, he stated: “It’s not like all the others, I know how important people regard this encounter, you can feel it in the air. There’s no need to build it up because the game does that by itself. We’ll play it with courage and pride. We know that Juventus are stronger than us, but it’s our intention to give it a go, even if we open ourselves up to risks. It will require a perfect performance.”

Rossi then moved on to consider certain individuals involved in tomorrow’s game, from his counterpart Antonio Conte, to former Juventus striker Amauri.

“Conte had an incredible playing career,” he continued. “Managing the team he embodied is the maximum inspiration. I hold him in the highest regard, he’s studied and worked his way up through the ranks. Amauri? There are players who are always present in games that count, I’m thinking about people like Drogba and Nedved. I’m therefore expecting important things from him. Behrami and Jovetic are currently more likely to miss out than to feature, but we’ve still got one training session left.”
