Juventus midfielder Romulo is ready to return to action before the end of the season, according to the player’s agent.

The 27-year-old joined the Bianconeri from Verona in the summer on an initial loan deal, but has played just 98 minutes this season across all competitions.

Romulo, who can also play at right-back, has been out for most of the season with a recurring groin injury, but his representative says he’s ready to make a comeback.

“Physically he’s fine, there’s no more pain,” Alex Firmino told Tuttomercatoweb.

“I think he can get back onto the pitch before the end of the season, though of course that’s down to the Coach [Max Allegri].

“He no longer has pain or discomfort, he’s done great work in Brazil and on Sunday will return to Italy.”

Under the terms of the initial transfer, the Old Lady would have been obliged to buy Romulo for €6m had he played 60 per cent of their games.

That target will not be met before the end of the season, but could he still end up at Juventus?

“I can’t say anything, that’s up to [directors of the respective clubs] [Sean] Sogliano and [Giuseppe] Marotta.

“Personally I think Romulo has everything it takes to be a Juventus player. In any case, he’s a good person and a good footballer.

“In any case, it’s a new start for him.”

Rightfully so..he deserves a fair chance if the club are serious about signing him. Also, I think he's a half decent player and at 6m I think we would have a great deal on our hands if we exercised it after another loan season.

We'll probably end up extending the loan deal
I'd very much like that. Was big fan of Romulo during his Verona days. Nice player to have and for that price, if his injury woes are over, it would be another excellent deal.

Definitely wouldn't want him on a permanent basis right away though. I like the player, but the type of injury he has sustained has ruined the carreers of much better players.

Not good enough. We can't keep more mediocre players if we want to grow as a squad.

He was mediocre to begin with, later he got injured and now we are wondering if he will be the same player as he once was? WTF! Is it Del Piero we are talking about here?
Its best both for us and the player to let him go and play somewhere. The bottom line can't be all dimes and nickles.

He still needs to prove if he is nto good enought. And with Lichteiner playing like a one trick pony and caceres being unavailable always..... im surely not mad at all at having options.
