Meh. Our mid is a mediocre bunch. Hard to single one out tbh.

I'd even pick the murican at this point. Bentancur is pissing me off way too much with his stupid yellows and the inevitable brainfarts. I'm sweating each time he has the ball around our own box.
We actually have a good midfield with Arthur, Bentancur and McKennie.

Bentancur has a lot of potential, still unpolished but improved a lot in the past 2 years.

Needs to become a lot more consistent though. Yesterday I was sitting and thinking that he had played fairly well two games in a row, so I had this moment of relief. Exactly when I thought that he hadn't made any brainfarts during the game he - somehow - with the ball at his feet manages to loose control without anyone putting pressure on him and Sampdoria gets a good opportunity. He is always one brainfart away from giving away a clear chance for opposition. Look, I am becoming more and more OK with risk but with the chance of Benta having a bad day or with his usual brainfart combined with that feeling of "when will Cuadrado/Danilo make that mistake we're all waiting for" there's just too much for my heart. I have a Garmin watch (not bragging but heck, I'm in love with it) and every time we play it calls on me the relax because my stress levels are high. ... and I haven't even mentioned Bonucci... jeeeeeeeesus christ. Fortunately Berna is, or should be, causing us problems higher up the pitch. I could of course go on to discuss Rabiot but my meltdown is complete.

Good? Imo it's still rather sad for a club of our size.
Matuidi - Pjanic - Can/Khedira was sad man. And I’m not taking about one player specifically, but about that whole midfield line. For me a good midfield exists of players who compliment each other and they should be able to support the team in every situation.

While discussing this, you really have to take in consideration that all 3 of them (4 including Chiesa) aren’t near they’re prime yet, in fact they still miss 3 (or more) years before reaching that, with the exception of Arthur. He should be reaching that within less time, someone like Xavi was still a nobody at 23 years of age, so no worries yet.

For me it’s a good midfield because it has 3 players who are good with the ball at their feet, all of them are good enough in tight spaces, with a brainfart of Benta here and there. But I like the defensive attributes that Bentancur and McKennie have, how Arthur is able to keep the ball circulating in the team and the runs in the box of McKennie. We still miss some things like someone with a good shot, or some world class passing skills like Pirlo had, but I definitely see potential in these guys, so
in my opinion we have to continue like we’re doing now, and over time add some good players like the know names by now.

Basic football, he can´t control the ball without having his eyes on it, so under pressure where he has to look up before passing he´s exposed. He´s struggled with that ever since he came her. Conte was smart, he covered both our full-backs so Buffon had to pass it to Bentancur every time and it almost got them 2 goals.

We´ll get away with it against lesser sides, it will cost us in CL and against better opposition.
