van der Vaart may be slightly better than Diego, certainly from a playmaking perspective, but the difference isn't all that great. Add in injury problems and you got a, well... problem.

So I don't see a real reason to make the switch, especially now that we have Aquilani and DN won't use VDV properly anyway.

Disregard the fluffing by the Ken.
If we would profit from VdV-Diego switch, then why not. But it doesn't seem like that.

Well, in my defence, I explained how it wouldn't really make sense to get vdV in Diego's place for obvious reasons.

Then people went on to just compare the two players, and I honestly believe vdV is more complete, with better passing and shooting. He oozes class. I've always been a fan so I defended him, there's no more to it really.

On a different note, I wonder what the reason of Diego's departure is. Maybe he's getting ridiculous wages and wanted to go badly for the money? Maybe Del Neri was satisfied having an AMC play behind a striker? On the other hand, it would sound silly to sell a player for that cheap unless you want to get rid of him badly.

For 15m the only possible conclusion can be that Marotta is an idiot.

Well yea, the fee is too low, that's for sure. It's still somewhat weird though, that it's all happening now all of a sudden.

Maybe interest wasn't shown till now. Marotta still has the middle table team mentallity that he must sell his best players to big clubs. This whole, 'no player is unsellable' approach just goes to show that he is a dangerous man to be running a football club. We do have unsellable players, Diego and Chiellini.

The only thing he defended was those two scudetti won by Juve, the rest is pretty much what Baggio10 said..

If it is impossible for us to sign him this summer with the non-EU rule then why is this thread even open?
