If it weren't possible in any way to get him cheaper, I would still buy him for €25m without a doubt. Even if he would be a huge failure in Juve, we would still be able to get good money for him in 1-2 year(s) because his price is very low now because he only has one year left of his contract. Oh, and if he doesn't fail, we would have a squad capable of winning Champions League.

That right there though, is the problem. He will be 29 years old when the season starts, and would be 30 by the time the following season started if they tried to offload him. He's not going to be any better than he already is, and with his age, comes diminishing returns in terms of value.

If they are dead set on getting him, they have to absolutely make sure everything else is in place for him, and the team to succeed, because if he fails, the economic impact on the club could haunt them for the next several years.

Gianluca Di Marzio, an expert on football, intervened in the special Football on Sky and spoke about the situation of Juventus regarding the search for a Top Player: "Let's just say that there is news that spread across the channel of an agreement on the basis of 25 million euros between Juventus and Arsenal Van Persie, rather we can lose the balance and reveal that between Juventus and Dutch there is an agreement in principle from 6 million more bonuses. Obviously no one with the Gunners who have indeed put a 25 million valuation to take the former Feyenoord ". According to Di Marzio so there is an agreement with the player, but Arsenal desists from selling the player at a price less than 25 million that would seem too much for the old lady.

"Juventus is very optimistic and day by day increase the likelihood that the deal will go to port so that uninterrupted contacts from 3 months with the Dutchman and his entourage. Regarding the outputs Matri and Qadri are not safe to be so wrong to discard the hypothesis of another damaging graft with Jovetic and Pazzini always in vogue. About Montenegro it must be said that Fiorentina has effectively frozen the hypothesis of buy co-owned by the bianconeri Poles because it would have been seen as a pick to get to Jovetic. Remains as the third hypothesis of top-player background Edin Dzeko. Finally the outputs there is no evidence of a flashback of Fenerbahce on Krasic "concluded Di Marzio.

After signing pirlo and seeing how well he played at his age, signing a soon-to-be 30 year old is the least of our worries

Juventus sources confirmed the Serie A champions have placed a new bid for RVP. If bid is accepted, deal could be done by weekend

Although I'd prefer Jovetic, the thought of getting a player of RvP's quality is something I would relish. Not to mention we'd be taking the Premier Leagues top player from last season.

One of the reasons i'd love us to sign him would be so all the EPL fanboys would go quiet for once, as supposedly the 'piss poor' italian league bought one of its best players.

Do it Beppe.

without knowing his wage demands, we can't really tell if a 25mil worth transfer fee is doable or not. at the end we'll have to see what the total package (Like some of the examples Alen posted yesterday) going to cost us.

Getting him for €25M and €6M in wages is a bit steep, but a sacrifice we must do to have a complete squad for Conte to work with. We could actually challenge on all fronts with him upfront.

I still don't believe it'll happen though. I wished United signed Lucas Moura. :(
