"What we agreed at that meeting was that we would keep all the discussions we had over the summer to ourselves and make announcements when it is the right time,"

We have to respect the fact we have agreed to keep that among ourselves.

"Robin is clearly focused on the Euros at the moment and we wish him well, and at the right time we will make the right announcements."

This is from Arsenals chief executive. This basically confirms he's leaving.

Considering only us and City are in for him and we cannot match City's wages. He'll go there.

But by that logic, Andrea coming out and confirming that we will surely get a top player this season, and Elkanns doing the same, we could pretty much have an agreement in place already. Because if you remember all the early running around and meetings with RvP. His trip to Torino, and wife preferring the city to Manchester all seem to suggest he could be coming here. And what will really happen after the Euro is a little back and forth on his wages. I don't think Shitty have him yet.

Just received this:

Arsenal have not even bothered to offer RVP a new deal.

RVP has also informed Arsenal he will not sign anything and his club are now applying pressure for him to put in a transfer request.

Wenger wants to hold him to his final year and the lack of an offer suggests the decision will be above his head again.

No way to treat a player who has given you eight years...

Arsenal :disagree:

Seriously, do you believe he'll go to City? Their captain? Nah Robin is not that kind of guy. Plus Bouchra is not very fond of Manchester :) I think he's done in England.

No sane person is fond of Manchester anyway. Awful city.

Sorry Nick.

There is an infection of EPL fanboys in Australia. It is because of the media. It's fucking ridiculous, not because of the fact that they like the league more than Serie A but because of their pure bias and non-knowledge towards other leagues. They think they know football and everything about it from watching EPL for 1 year. Nigga pls they wouldn't even be able to name who the 2006 World Cup.

Honestly, I like the idea of Higuain more because he is younger and will be part of a team that could dominate for years to come where as with RVP we would probably get maybe 2-3 seasons max of him being a top level striker before we need to replace him. Our team is a fairly young one besides 3 more experienced players (Gigi, Pirlo and Barza) so I think Higuain would be a better investment. Lower wages too.

@Madvillain un terms of age you right...but i still rank RVP a bit higher.

But as B81 said either of these 3 will be great, and we'll have hell of a team.
