We are offering Srsenal about 20m and the player about 6m plus bonuses, which probably levels out to about 7m. He wants 8m. Arsenal want more money.

Buffon is around 6 isn't he? Doubt we'll go to 8 - Agnelli wants to keep a tight ship with FFP coming up rapidly and good on him.

He has one year left in his contract... 25 mil is the max we should go with...
Definitely, but push comes to shove, if RvP agrees to the wages that we are offering him, then I can see Juve break the bank to buy him from Arsenal before it becomes a bidding war. Right now, believe it or not, 30m is a no brainer for City. So we need to move fast, sincthhe only reason they're not showing interest in Cavani either, is his price tag of 40 mil. Arsenal are aware of this, and if this becomes a bidding war, I can't see Van Persie not being tempted by all the riches, if Juventus pull out with his price tag.

Depends on your definition of world class and how you rate individual players, of course.

I feel that there are significantly fewer really good players around than there were in years gone by.

With ther being fewer good players to go around, I'd venture to say that Real Madrid and Barca probably account for at least one third of the top class players in the world just now.
I dont disagree perse, but there's allways players who are better then others, even not many of them are in the level of even recent past, but better then the competition and add assurances to be competetive and also naturally cost more.

He is. People thinking Hazard is the next big thing, just haven't seen him play frequently... Just because Mr I don't know anything about football Abramovich wants him, doesn't mean he's worth it. Aguero cost 40 mil and is about 3 times the player Eden is.

Meh, I've seen Hazard about 5 or 6 times and I cant say that I've been that impressed. He's quick, got some nice skills as well on the wing, but nothing I havent seen before. A touch over rated.

Although theyre two different players, Id much rather Kagawa as well. That guy is quality.

Kagawa certainly isn't better than him; they are not of the same caliber.

Also, Hazard deserves his reputation and if you don't agree, you've simply not seen him enough. The only thing you can hold against him is his ability to choke for his NT, nothing else.

He was also very unimpressive in the CL last year.
