I think every player is built differently. Some are more motivated by money, others by bigger ambitions. I'd have agreed with you had we been talking about this a year or so ago. But with the new stadium, the team we have in place, a recent scudetto, Juve is by far and away the most forward looking Italian club for the next 5 years at least. Spain is hardly an option seeing how stacked Madrid and Barca are.
Juve are a big team, and Robin has the chance to be a centrepiece of a team like that which is something he might enjoy. He knows he's spent 8 years at Arsenal and he cant wipe that out for the faithful by going to Shitty, which I'm sure will be a consideration. As will his wife's wishes not to move to Manchester. I dunno, I see the possibility of this move to be honest.

However possible it may be, I don't think there's much point in getting hyped over one player too much because #1 we always know how it turns out and #2 next week there will be news saying he is going to city and then the week after than they will say he is close to Juve.

Thats it.

After the past few years getting excited about the arrival of big players and the inevitable disappointment when we don't land them, Ive just stopped getting over excited and hyped up about it. I'll expect the worst and hope for the best. Even though in this instance I honestly think we dont have a chance of landing RVP. If we do, fucking A.

The only problem with Van Persie is the contract length and wages he will demand. I have no issue with a 30m price tag, especially if you look at how much we over paid in the Secco days and he is of much greater quality than any of those purchases. But... Van Persie will demand a long term deal, more than likely 5 years. At his wage demands over that period we could potentially have a 34yr old hindering future transfers due to still taking up so much of the transfer/wage kitty.

RVP "Interviewed by Turin daily Tuttosport, the Dutchman decided against commenting specifically about interest from the Old Lady.

“Juventus are a great team,” he smiled. “But I have agreed with Arsenal that I will not discuss my future.

Is it just me or would anyone else feel kind of weird and could just not see any top striker (Higuain and Rvpi) ever coming to Juve because of the horrific signings and bad management we have had over the last 5 years? It's almost like its expected to sign failures and second nature to see us getting anyone of real quality. Shock me Marotta.

Less of that and more because Serie A isnt an attractive league for players anymore (compared to EPL and La Liga). We can attract a big name from within our league but its fucking hard to sign big name players from those aforementioned leagues.

nope..we don't have many world class players so we have a lot of available positions..baggio already posted the reasons why a player wants to join us

I completely agree teams need to start building their stadiums allready. Napolis and Inters new stadiums are being planned to be built in 2016. too long to wait, the longer they wait the more money teams lose and Juventus need strong competition to attract the big names

About his age, though...

When Zlatan went to Milan he was the exact same age as RVP is now. How come it's OK for Milan to splash 25 million on a top player and then put him on 12m euros in wages, and we can't pay the same transfer fee and put RVP on 7m per season? What's so wrong about this deal? I don't buy the "he's too frail"-stuff, because he's obviously past his injury problems now. The fittest player in the Premier League last season. And he's a world class striker. Technical, full of flair, and what a finisher he is.
So 1 season of being injury free makes him the fittest player !!

The man was constantly injured "all" his career with Arsenal, I honestly don't have a good feeling about this deal at all.

Both Aquilani and Pirlo were injured a lot in the seasons before we brought them and they were both fine with us.

Let the medical team decide if he is fit enough for us or not.

Aquilani was on loan and Pirlo came here for free, both hardly were big risks buys.

Van Persie gonna cost us around 30 mil plus his huge salary. Like I've said, thats too much of a risk to take.

It really is a risk,a big one too,I think the age and the wage he is gonna be asking are the final reasons we would probably not take the deal.
Still, a great player but too big of a risk..

    :D

Unfortunately I cannot guarantee his health. I haven't acquired that power yet, but there's still time.

I feel ya. I've actually got a Cavani Fetish... Cavani than Higgy or Rvp, than Dzeko, order of preference. I just think that if there's a shot, and he's only 30M, we've just gotta pull that trigger. I can't see Lavezzi & Cavani being sold... and Cavani will be ridiculously priced if he is available. Higuain doesn't really seem available to me - he would pretty much have to force his way out (unless we opened the wallet up real wide?). Who knows.

A couple of my ex-roommates/close friends - who are brothers - are big Gunners fans. I have heard so much yapping over the years about Robin, and I can appreciate the player that he is. In the past it did seem like he was always hurt - he and Rosicky - but I never really followed too closely what the specific injuries were. More so just trying to dig stuff up now, so thanks for that link buddy. I was very quickly looking at xrays of ankles, but am a little burnt from vaporizing some blueberry kush at the moment, and wasn't processing some of that information particularly well. 2:50 am... and stunned.

Anyway, RvP would add a ton - he's absolutely class. Higgy is younger, will hold his value better if things don't work out, he's a great striker who will get better. Either would be amazing, but Robin is in the form of his life right now. I think I'm slightly biased, because I've watched him more, as well.

I do like the age, familiarity with the league, physicality, work ethic, volume production, and potential for improvement with Cavani most, though.

Actually, I like the idea of adding another Uruguayan or two... lots of quality there right now, they seem to generally play a nice, aggressive style. Gotta love Martin

Sorry for the expansive reply. Burnt rambling, clearly time for sleep.

    Edit: Shit, almost forgot...

    *San Gigi*

    Licht(Caceres) - Barzagli (Bonucci) - Chiello (Sorenson :p) - Kolarov (De Ceglie)

Vidal (Pogba) - Pirlo (Marrone) - Marchisio (Asamoah)

Pepe (Qtube) - RvP (Matri) - Vucinic (Giovinco)
Haha I know a lot of Napoli fans and I know I'd be unbearably smug if we signed Cavani from them, probably buy a box of those biscuits and nibble at them slowly in sight. Also know a couple of Arsenal fans which would spark a similar reaction, although it's stupidly easy to mock their club. I'd never though of that angle, fuck you for selling van Persie to me. :p

I agree with you regarding Napoli selling two of their stars, think Lavezzi had a release clause and the others will be up for grabs if they are at a stupid price. Napoli aren't really like Udinese.

I think I prefer your formation, but I was just adapting to the 3-5-2 we were using. Juruguay would be awesome but impossible for either Luis or Edinson, those two in a 3-5-2, oh boy.

My point is that we should leave it to our competent medical team. None of us is in the position to judge whether he is fit now or not. If the medical teams give it's OK then we shouldn't worry.

I would disagree with the fact that Pirlo wasn't a risk. We built our midfield around him, if he was to be injured whole season we'd be fucked.
