Van Persie 'would prefer Juve’

By Football Italia staff

After confirming that he will not sign a new deal with Arsenal, Robin Van Persie is apparently favouring a move to Juventus, should he be sold this summer.

The Dutchman, who was the Gunners’ leading scorer last term, announced last night that he would not be renewing his contract with the club that expires in June 2013.

His club initially stated that they expect him to remain with them into next season, but reports are linking the player with a transfer this window, so that Arsenal can receive a transfer fee for him.

It is thought to be a fight between Manchester City and Juventus for the 28-year-old, but Calcionews24.com believe that out of the two, the player prefers the change of scene that the Turin outfit can offer, as well as the stronger guarantee of first team football.

It is also alleged that Beppe Marotta is reportedly prepared to offer the striker a contract in the region of €8m a season.

Rumors say City offered RVP 220000 pounds/week...
if we hold together as fans we can actually get him. 220'000 pounds per week equals 31'000 pounds per day. i say get the stadium full of fans and every fan give him a pounding... would equal to more than 31 '000 pounds .

:agree:

Staple of all British press when talking about Italy.

I'm just surprised Van Persie isn't referred to as a 'Dutch Master'.

180 000 pound a week..WOAH !

Thats like roughly 8-9m per year ?thats way too much and i'm sure we wont break our wage barrier for him..It would also cause unrest among some players when you have somebody like RVP earn that much money, and you have players like Marchisio,Chiellini,Vidal who earn 2x lesser..And that is the last thing you would want to happen at a club like Juventus.

Honestly dont think this transfer will happen..

Still think this can actually happen.

1- City hardly needs another attacker unless they sell one of their own first.

2- Arsenal is the cheapest richest club out there, no way in hell they will let VP leave next season for free so if he doesn't renews his contract am 100% certain they will sell his ass this summer.

3- Arsenal would rather sell him abroad than to their direct rivals (if similar deals were offered). Unless the 2 Spanish clubs try to sign him or Bayern Munich (pretty much all 3 didn't show interest in him atleast from the media POV).

That leaves "us" only the real target for him, all what I hope for Marotta to be smart and don't offer them over the odds fee (which I think he will)

Arsenal fans really need to stop blaming RVP for everything. He's clearly not leaving just for money. If sunderland offered him 500k a week he wouldnt go, the fact of the matter is, he wants to win trophies and I cant see arenal winning one for atleast another 10 years. There is nothing wrong with a player wanting to win.
