Undoubtedly SOME of our ailments must be related to mental issues, spiritual issues even...Ciro's tactical failings and cavalier approach to fixing problems, by playing unfit players out of position, clearly, has made heads drop...The re-arrival of Bettege, a man with an aura, like a demi god with a juve halo and juve wings, emanating a winning, powerful energy, to lift the hearts and spirits of the team as a whole. Ciro has fucked up...But Bettega hasn't. So now they have a Guide, untarnished, still bright and shiny, and somehow jesus like...hohoho...something like that. I can imagine how a man united player would feel, just having bobby charlton roaming the club, checking out the training sessions, on the bench even, near Ferguson...it would ADD so much pride, at wearing the shirt. A living legend...Someone to aspire to emulate.

He is not a messiah, and the reality is that he has a lot of work to do bcause we are really messed up. Its positive indeed. but dont expect mirafles of him because the things that are fucked up are so many, that it will take us to fire and sell who knows how many players.
At least we can start thinking in next season and secure the CL spot for thsi one.

The Project was moving along fine until they decided to hire Ciro. It is not our first step forward, not at all. Just that we took a step backward when we started losing games on a trot.

Doesn't matter, does it? Our first year back from Serie B, we were expected to finish somewhere in the lower half of the upper half :)D) of the table. We exceeded all expectation and secured a CL spot. Second year we got a direct spot in the CL. These were big achievements for a team which spend an year in the second division. On top of that we are positive on the financial side as well which is a major plus because it will help us in the coming years. We have a stadium on the way which no other Serie A side has. The board has made mistakes, a lot of them. But you have to give them credit where it is due. When we started making progress more than what was expected the fans started to get greedy. The board promised a competitive side (one which wins trophies) in 5 years, we are just half way through. Barring the defence and DP/Trez replacement over the next year or so, we have a solid team.

So no hiring Bettega isn't the first step. Give some credit where it is due. We also need to give credit to the board (or the Elkanns) for convincing Bettega to come back after he was unceremoniously dumped after Serie B.

In 5 years time this club will be making and extra 40million for tranfers a year. The stadium is going to make us the richest club in Italy by 2014-2015. With Bettega in from the start our team will be back, mid-nineties style.
