I've always liked Pires, but I think Ljungberg would be a better buy :D he can play anywhere in midfield and he is great :D

I actually agree with Nicole. Old and overrated, just like the rest of his Arsenal teammates(Vieira, Ashley Cole, Ljungberg etc.).

Might as well try Figo too, he is 32 and free, seems like we only interested in free players over 30 at the moment.

Italian duo monitor Pires
Thursday 23 June, 2005

Juventus and Inter are today being linked with Robert Pires should he quit Arsenal this summer.

The silky Frenchman could leave Highbury given that talks over a new contract are proving problematic.

Pires’ current deal expires in 2006 and the London outfit seem unwilling to offer him a two-year extension.

Valencia have been heavily associated with the midfielder, 32, but the Italian giants are also monitoring the situation.

Both clubs are keen seeing as Pires is undoubtedly a good player, but also one who may be available for a nominal fee as a result of his current contract situation.

Inter are in need of new wingers even if they are on the verge of signing Santiago Solari from Real Madrid.

Juventus transfer chief Luciano Moggi is interested as the club currently have no valid alternatives for Pavel Nedved or Mauro Camoranesi on the flanks.
