If you look at value for money, no transfer comes close to Sneijder to Inter.

Robben to Bayern does actually.

Lesson to learn: Buy Dutch players from Madrid. ;)

Van der Vaart anyone?
or Drenthe or both.

And indeed, RvN is also doing good for HSV so the outgoing Dutchies at Real are doing good at their clubs now.

Iniesta is simply brilliant and one of my absolute favourites...Xavi and Cesc, hmm, they're good, but Franck is better.
Fabregas has always been better than Iniesta. Barring last season when Iniesta was in insane form, there hasn't been a season where Iniesta was as consistent and influential as Fabregas was. Especially this season, where Iniesta has again been inconsistent.

Fabregas, Xavi and Iniesta are all better players than Ribery imo. I'd also say Gerrard, Torres, Villa, Zlatan, Messi, C.Ronaldo and Lampard have been better and more consistent than Franck over the past 2-3 years.

Let's put his high price aside, I don't think he is as good as people say he is. Ribery is described as top 5 or 10 players in the world. There are plenty of players better than him. There are better defenders at defending, better goalkeepers at their positions than Ribery as a winger. Add to it the list of Midfielders who are clearly better and proved their worth on bigger stages consistently.

look back in early pages and you will see a list of ~15 players who I believe are better than him. I didn't include any defenders or Goalkeepers, and there are plenty of both catogories which are better at their positions than Ribery playing as a midfielder

He is a top player, but let's be honest about this, which top player is going to join a team in turmoil and not in Europe?

Young, hungry, talented players who want to make their name are the players to be targeted.

There will be no quick fix, and a genuine plan over three seasons, with a manager to implement that plan with a board who will give him full support is needed.
A back-bone of Italians would be also essential.

Back bone of Italians? I'd love to find a coach that's prepared to actually give youngsters a chance to blossom & not send their asses packing on loan.

I really think Ribery is a level ahead of Robben. The latter is having a better season that is for sure, but that doesn't make him a better player. Robben is too selfish and too much of a ball hog to be as good as Ribery. Ribery is a more creative player and has been more consistent over the past years.

Overrated or not, he plays in a position which we really lack talented players at and he's damn great at it. So, do I want him here? Hell yeah.
