Summer 2024: Chelsea sign Veiga for €14m.
January 2025: Veiga has played 627mins for the club. 7 appearances in the Premier League. Chelsea value him €30m.
This is the Chelsea method. They stockpile young players with massive outlays, with no prospect of some of them being first team players, just as future investments. The really expensive ones tend to be in the first team but the cheaper ones are automatically worth 10m or whatever more off the bat because they are young and play for Chelsea. The same guy is going to be more expensive to buy from Chelsea than he is from Basel.

They will recycle these players as and when they need to to generate funds. Veiga is another one they might do it with, which is why a dry loan is not great for our future chances, if he has a great half season. They will want a bidding war.

It comes down to one thing: is he Premier League "proven". Is he a small club fluke or can he actually follow the tempo and play required to play in the premier league. You don't know how players in Basel and the likes are doing in a top club. So I guess Giuntoli consider the top club test done as for Veiga and that he is now worth the investment. I also think there's a lot we don't know to this deal. Say Chelsea Value him at €20m. A loan at €5m with a hidden obligation at 15,16,17, 18m would make sense for both parties. We are one injury away between Kalulu and Gatti from needing this guy. So he will get plenty of minutes here

I have no idea about this player so I hope he's good.
You guys really should ease your expectations for this transfer window. This planning thing is BS because no club will sell their good assets mid season.
Take Fagioli as an example. I'm sure a host of clubs would want him on a free loan even without an option. Yet we don't want to let him go even though he's a fringe player here. Why? Because we want MONEY. Giuntoli operates without any budget and you guys expect him to bring a player with equal value to Bremer. Actually you wanted two defenders and a striker. All world class.

my cousin who is a Chelsea diehard fan said this guy is quite a phenomenon, built different, tall, fast with good feet, versatile with good passing. He was sure there would be no option to buy so he was fine that the guy left for Juve..
lets see how he goes here, hopefully theres like a hidden clause for us to buy if he perfoms..

I'm thinking we just want someone good to fill in whilst Bremer and Cabal recover. Who knows what happens in the summer, but seems very unlikely Chelsea would give him up after one season, unless someone offers a lot for him (looks through fingers at Giuntoli). Personally I don't think he'd bloat the squad as he's so versatile.

Chelsea wanted to sell him even now, but for a fee in a region of 25m according to the rumours.

So he is coming which means we have identified him as a potential Cambiasso replacement IMO.
Cambiasso is going to City as when City really want a player they would pay and get him. 65M-85M it doesnt really matter to them...

Unless he's a world class player I think we stand a good chance to buy him in the summer. But let's not fast forward, we're yet to see if he's just another choker.
ofc we do, he only wants to play CB and look at Chelsea squad:

He would have to be considered better (in Chelsea's mind) than Colwill, Fofana and Adarabioyo at least.

doubt it, he specifically said he doesnt want to play fullback, only CB.

No he doesn't. His salary is included in the 4,5 / 5 mil.
His salary which is more than what Huijsen was earning. Makes the deal even worse.

Future will tell. Might lose him without option but the same was said about Conceicao.

From Chelsea's side that would've been dumb 'tho. He had multiple suitors...
We may still not sign conceicao permanently, in recent days it's been reported by insiders that it is no longer it is 100% certain.

And Huijsen wouldn't have wanted an upgrade on his role and salary ofc. It's already less than 1/3 salary included. So no, that math is again wrong.

Willing to take bets on Conceicao? He's coming. Haven't seen a single even a little bit credible source deny it.

I'm not making bets, but I am willing to state that according to reliable sources it's not 100% certain, that's not to say it won't be done but it's not as certain as it was, and it's linked with how we treated Jorge Mendes over Silva. It has been posted in the conceicao thread.

Which reliable source? GjustJuve :lol3: ?

None of the actual reliable ones have said so. Giuntoli said he's coming and all the rest confirmed the preferential path to the clause. That's about it aside from some speculation by clickbaiters.

Guys, if we knew that Huijsen will suddenly become that good no one would sell him. The problem is he has looked shaky as fuck at Roma, that they didn't even want him to stay after all. In the end we were actually struggling to sell him for that 18m or so.

He's a regular on the Juventibus podcast with the people who you'd most probably consider reliable anyways
