If I am not mistaken it was 2001-2002. We were not leading, and Gianni Agnelli past away wishing for a third star on the jersey. Del Piero and his team mates fired up so bad starting with the mind blowing goal agianst piacenza. We were not competing the CL that season due to early ilumination. I believe we did win 10 matches in the serie A that season in a raw.

Yes, I know that we werent leading, but after that run we won the scudetto.

No, that season we drew against Roma in the 3rd match day (2-2)
Exactly. At home. With a 2-1 lead. And Lippi pulled Trez for Birindelli and we tried to defend our way to the three points. And we didn't due to some clamoroso in front of goal at the end, and Zebina scored the equalizer with three minutes left.

But I'm not still bitter about that... :fero:

We were rated #1 calcio team in the world (tied with Chelsea):D. Saw it on Fox Soccer. Sorry, didn't catch where it was written originally--ie, FS cited the article, but I mist the origin.

Do recall that we were rated #1 in the world in the CNN/World Soccer poll (or was that ESPN's world club poll? Is there really any point? ;) ) in early December last year.

Best not to get too excited about it. Last time we held that ranking, we played like crap against Milan at home not long afterwards and the goals dried up for us.

Not to jinx Juve, but I think we should continue or run instead of being complacent. We ave a great start of the season, and I wish that we can carry on this form throughout the rest of the season.

How about beating some real record, say, 58 consecutive games without defeat in the serie A?

Seriously though, haven't you learned the lesson yet? Let's see how many straight wins you'll be collecting in January.

Yeah shut up u tit! How was Istanbul? Bet you were one of those who were celebrating with cigars and champagne at half time!? Remember football is a game of two halfs! not one!

POW! AVE SOME OF THAT!! :fero:

I completely agree with your points as well, Kaiser. But you also must admit that these are the first things someone envious of a 7-0-0 start would say to make them feel better about themselves. :D

You are so right. It's the same I have been thinking in the last few days. We know what happened last year and we should learn the lesson.
We all remember the words of Gattuso after Juve Milan "This draw is not a problem, because we are much more stronger than Juve." We all know how it ended and we still haven't learned. :wallbang:

Wow you really owned me there, Dilbert.

No I wasn't celebrating anything at half-time, but then again I've only seen 21 other C1/CL finals before that and am more cautious than Bob Galia tackling Dezzotti in a Coppa Italia game against Cremonese (yeah he was a Juve player : go check it, you might learn a thing or two...about a thing or two).

Istanbul was a great page in the history of European football, one that fans the world over will remember for years. See, it's a tradition for us to put spectacle first, win or lose. Our European trophy case seems to suggest that this has paid some dividend so far.

Plainly, when we win a final, we tend to equal the goal margin record (4-0 against Steaua in 89 and 4-0 against Barca in 94, or even 4-1 vs Cruyff's Ajax in 69...we were speaking about records, weren't we). And when we lose said final, it has to be epic (see also : Real-Milan in 58).

As for you, you've only won after a bloodshed (85) and thanks Ag-ricola lozenges (96).

We understand your urge to finally lift your first "straight" CL, but we simply don't share it.

    Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! BORING!!!!

    I am so happy you're a Milanista :)
    :dielaugh:

Well, it beats being a Boca or River Plate fan today.

Did anyone catch the game today? Honest truth: even the people who watched it really didn't catch the game today. It's like Boca-River must have studied the films from the last Rome derby.
