Category: General

Inter flop Alvaro Recoba is today being linked with a seemingly unlikely summer switch to Juventus.

The Uruguayan’s future at the San Siro is in doubt after contract talks regarding a renewal – his present deal expires this month – have stalled.

Now the attacking sensation is being paired with a transfer to Turin, but only if Walter Novellino is handed the Old Lady’s hotseat.

The Sampdoria boss is being lined up as a replacement for Fabio Capello who is expected to quit if the club are demoted to Serie B for sporting fraud.

Novellino is arguably the only tactician to get the very best out of an Italian based Recoba while he was Venezia boss in 1998.

The player known as ‘Il Chino’ arrived at the Laguna outfit on loan from Inter where his goals proved enough to keep the club in the top flight.

Juventus are on the look out for new players even if it remains to be seen whether Recoba would accept a possible spell in the Second Division.

What does seem likely is a mass exodus from Turin if the club are not registered in Serie A next term.

The latest rumours claim that Pavel Nedved is ready to join international teammate Jan Koller at Monaco.

Left-back Giorgio Chiellini, an Under-21 international, is apparently eyeing a switch to the Premiership with Arsenal.

The likes of Gianluca Zambrotta, David Trezeguet, Emerson and Zlatan Ibrahimovic would also be on the move with Europe’s top clubs sniffing around them.

Source: Football Italia

recoba isnt all that bad a player.sure,he's not as good as he was once, but he's still pretty decent imo.id welcome him at juventus.one disadvantage is that he's nearing 30.i would have preffered a younger player.

..

He could shine with Juve. if given the proper opportunity. I wouldn't say no to him, though his wages must go down if he ever comes. The poor guy has just got the "Inter Sydrome"...

I think we will buy recoba so they other players can see at the training fields how the level is in serie B.
This way they other players could get used to the way they play in serie B.

I also want to say that I think we should also buy a new bench in our stadium, one that can carry more weight, it'll be the only place where we will see him (sleeping).

recoba please stay home and I never wanna hear your name agian in the same sentence as the name of our club.
