New Real Madrid president Fernando Martin has admitted he would like to bring Fabio Capello back to the club.
Juventus coach Capello has been linked with a return to El Santiago Bernabeu ever since Wanderley Luxemburgo lost his job in December.
The Italian is highly regarded within the corridors of Real after guiding the side to the title in the 1996-97 campaign during a one-season stay.
Capello has just over a year to run on his current contract at Juve and the former Milan boss has never hidden his desire to return to the Spanish capital at some point in the future.
Juan Ramon Lopez Caro is currently in caretaker charge of Real, but it seems likely they will look to appoint a high-profile manager in the summer.
Martin has expressed his admiration for Capello and he revealed the club are working hard to find a new manager.
"I like Capello," said Martin. "His ability can't be questioned when you look at his record.
"Real want the best man for the job. The board will decide who to target after a meeting next week."
