we have failed to address out defense yet again!! We have brought in full backs who are defender only in name. Called be crazy but how about buying a defender who can....uhh......defend?! We will be raped down our flanks unless we go ultra defensive like we did under Ranieri.

We have removed (I would say) 80-90% of our creativity in the sale and loan of Diego & Gio respectvely. The sale of Camo did not help in that department either.

A very depressing mercato for fans of the old lady. The poor mecato and the predictibilty of our coach will prove a great undoing this season as we have imporved only in quantity.

& it's not liek we've drastically reduced the wage bill either. From what i hear d we're still paying Trez and Auilani is being paid the same if not slightly more than Poulsen. The only real dent made was by releasing Camo.

1/5 (only cuz there's no 0 option).

I will attempt to stick to my volition in refraining from watching Juve games, but it will be very difficult, especially as I have access to most matches on my cable network. I will watch highlights of some games, and probably tune in to catch the derbies (vs Roma, Milan, Inter) and decide whether I will watch the full game depending on the HT score and our manner of play. I can't completely stop watching Juventus, as it's a drastic measure, but I will most definitely be watching us play fewer matches as opposed to past seasons.
Just two days ago your decision was definite to stop watching Juventus :disagree: now you have come up with an analysis and explanation, I already said you were full of shit with your first claim. Overreaction at its best but that's not strange coming from you.

I know you love me Jack; that is why you find time to respond to my posts, and actually attempt to analyze them, as well as my personality :p

Some knee-jerking here,

Does anyone else think the Rinaudo move was a case of desperation by Beppe to fill a void?

Happy to proven wrong, but why sign mediocrity - in both age and talent - as cover. He has better be ultra cheap and a keen bench warmer.

Yeah I read that earlier. Good, objective, take on the situation.

Apparently Juve fans aren't the only ones underwhelmed with our mercato. The whole Dzeko dream to Quag reality left a bad taste in my mouth especially when Wolfe got Diego for a bargain price.

But yeah a few of his moves seem like they were made out of desperation. Oh well, here to hoping we make CL and have a nice budget to work with next year.

I went for a 2 - It would have been a 4 up until about 10 days ago....

Buys:
The Good's: Motta, Krasic, Aquilani, Bonucci, Quagliarella
The Ok's: Pepe, Rinaudo, Lanza
The Bad's: Traore, Martinez (Money-wise)

Sales:
The Good's: Poulsen, Molinaro, Canna, Zebina
The Ok's: Camo (free), Criscito
The Bads: Tiaga (Only on loan after an initial loan), Treze (free)
The Horrible: Diego, Giovinco

The Diego sale was awful, firstly because he was our most talented player, and secondly because he went for a pathetic sum of money (4m more than martinez...), which we then had to repay to replace him.
I was OK with Trez leaving, it was time to replace him - but the fact is that we didn't, we looked completely panic struck on the last day and clearly sold him out of pressure and then couldn't secure a player to replace him.... Pathetic piece of business that was.
Loaning seba out was even more stupid, a talented young italian with a passion for Juventus and we ship him out, surely he should have ticked all the boxes of our 'new juve'. Considering the amount of players we got rid of, we didnt really get a lot of return for them.

Unlike others here I actually have a lot of confidence in Quag, I think he was one of our best signings - but he wont show his best until he's alongside someone like Amauri or Iaquinta. Considering they are both injury prone, I dont think we'll see that very often this year, which is why not replacing trez with a centre forward was a huge error. Traore was also a massive panic buy. We have had all summer to buy a quality left back, but we are forced into a last minute panic buy of a player that was useless at portsmouth because of our inability to move Grosso on. Our two biggest issues last season (scoring goals, and conceding goals - two pretty big problems!!) were again not addressed at all. I am very worried about this season, and I hope I am proved wrong, but the way this market has gone we will need at least a defender and a centre forward in January, and thats not even mentioning our creativity issues...

I think Rinaudo was out of desperation, but at least it's only on loan. I have a feeling Ariaudo will be brought back next season.

The fact that nearly all the signings were loans goes to show Moratti does not know what he is doing and is unsure of himslef - he is sort of "trying his luck" and see what comes of these loans -

You summed our whole transfer campaign very well.
Actually I agree with this.
