What I suggest you do is get some people and start some fierce discussions on football related matters. Guests visiting this forum who like such discussions will register and join the battle, shifting the balance back again.
Excellent idea, where do I have to sign ? :excited:

Have you spoked with Martin about that ? Won't it be too hard for him to create that sort of place ?

What sort of place?? a forum called "the colloseum" or somethig like that? :D

I though the discussions would take place in the game threads right?

Well, I think that I've deciphered that mess of seudo-egnlish correctly (sorry, but I appreaciate whole words). MY point is not that I want people to be angry all the time, my point is that the forums were fun when people got angry about things. They loved their team so much that people saying derrogatory things made them angry. I want people to stop being so accomodating. Be nice, be pleasant, but don't back down. That's what happens too much, people back down when there is still plenty of discussion to be had, and that is my point. I suppose that the use of the words pissed off were used because people are less likely to let an arguement go, if they are emotionally involved in it. That's what I mean, it used to be that people had some concept of consequnce, that they could construct or construe some type of meanig or importance from what goes on here. I don't see that anymore...
Strange people then. If I'm getting angry related to something about a football player or a team I like or I dislike, beware, I might dig it forever. But I guess that not all of us can be like that, but still

So when are we starting the new age of discussions ? Talking, talking, and never doing ? :p Come on.

There is no hurry.......

This must start in a natural way, and not like a game or something like that!.

We are in the lack of juve games now....but surely with the start pf the champions league, and the serie....we will have a loot to talk about, starting from this wednesday clash with the Azurri.

So, be calm, if the things are already solved, the rest will come alone. ;)

Yes I know. And Juve hasn't got to be the only reason. There are still NT and this whole stuff with the Euro quals, then the quals in South America, which of course, are interesting, especially for you and the whole spanish-speaking gang (which includes me, Forza Argentina ;) ). Then of course, right about the CL, my mother might allow me to see the first two matches. Then I'll have to shoot myself and go haunt a person who's got the opportunity to watch them ....

Juve is not the only reason, cuz all this days we were talking about the NT´s and so on.....but with juve is cooler.

About the south american cups...i see them all the weekends, and i like them a lot.

But sadly, i dont like to talk about it here, because no one see the matches. In europe i think that the Copas from southamerica are not boradcasted,,so is like to talk with a blind man.

Just fabiana, and the latin bunch are the ones that see the games

I've seen a short review form Chile-Argentina, but just a few images, sadly. But if you want to talk more about Argentina e.g. :p, we can go on the NT thread I've started these days :)

Hehe but look where that went... how ironic that we've probably had more side-tracks in this thread than many others

Actually, this thread has very little to do with off-topic problems. But, I think that the purpose of this thread has been fulfilled, we have identified a problem (or many problems), and we have generated a multitude of possible solutions. What remains now is to go about implementing those solutions. So that's that, unless someone has something else to add?

First of all I want to inform everyone that things won't be what they once were. No matter how much we want it to be that way things will never be the same again. But that shouldn't stop us from making this place better, but remember that better doesn't have to be the same thing as what it was before. We are going to have to work from what it looks as today which is a lot different from what it was a year ago. Mattos words was good, the forum becomes what the members make of it. If we try to make a serious football forum of a place that contains people who don't know anything about the game can't lead to anything but disaster.
Have you noticed that the traffic is very low nowadays. My interest for this place is pretty low a the moment and I am not the only one who feels that way obviously. Perhaps it is because most of the threads have no real content but it could also be other reasons.
When I was new here few people "knew"each other, I was "anonymous" myself for a long time and thought it was pretty cool. Now it seems like everyone knows everyone in and out. At least for me friends, girls and most of things are most interesting in the beginning. I remember that I thought it was really cool when I had my first conversation with one of the big shots.

I am a bit conservative and I think that little should be done, I think you should not delete any threads unless it is on very good grounds. If you start deleting threads it will lead to anger, well that is what we are looking for here but I think it is something different. I think the best way is if we solve it ourselves. Now if the majority prefers threads like "Wrong answers, please" etc. The ones who doesn't like 'em will either have to adjust to the situation or just leave. This is how it works or at least how it is supposed to work in real life.

 who made YOU an expert?!
Actually, it was the Universities of Sydney and Amsterdam. Then Paul and Glen taught me how to do it on-line.

Lack of content here at the moment might also be due to the fact that we just emerged from off season.Fot the past few months, there have been no (well not no....but only a few isolated games)matches, you don't get to see the players..... = not much to argue about.

There have been some convos and difference in opinion about the trasfer of some players though. So that's a good sign. Hopefull as the season heats up and as more leagues kick into action, things will get back into full swing ....... and the 'confilct' will heat up along with it.
