so do we conclude anything in this thread?
1. We are able to derailed every single thread in this forum, no matter what about it was ;):D

2. At least people said loudly, what bother them here much, so when the others read that, maybe there will be some change, from all sides participating in this thread or just reading it :)

That's about right...

I think it's good that we've all voiced our opinions, because otherwise there'd just be all this rage locked up and someone would explode and start a major argument. I for one have learnt from this, and i'm more hesitant and cautious when I post, and actually check what thread I'm in (it was weird, but u get used to it) and I hope there's some changes and hopefully a reduction in the derailing of threads. Good to see this thread was useful and didn't just turn into an argument thread, because that's the way it was going for a while...

Well, I think that I've deciphered that mess of seudo-egnlish correctly (sorry, but I appreaciate whole words). MY point is not that I want people to be angry all the time, my point is that the forums were fun when people got angry about things. They loved their team so much that people saying derrogatory things made them angry. I want people to stop being so accomodating. Be nice, be pleasant, but don't back down. That's what happens too much, people back down when there is still plenty of discussion to be had, and that is my point. I suppose that the use of the words pissed off were used because people are less likely to let an arguement go, if they are emotionally involved in it. That's what I mean, it used to be that people had some concept of consequnce, that they could construct or construe some type of meanig or importance from what goes on here. I don't see that anymore...
ok, thanks for re-explaining it, thats cool then :) and i would like for this to happen too :)

Perhelps i had taken your 1st couple of replies in a different view, but what you've said above good :)

Hey just one question........ after all..

    what means Rant?

    :wallbang:
Good question. A rant is a tirade, a bit of yelling, sort of an angry list of grievances.

Well I can't say I'm a big fan of the lovey dovey crap, as you so gently put it but a community automatically shapes itselfs to the majority, just like society.

Right now we, like it or not, have a lot of people around here that DO like that mushy crap and so there are many threads to be found of the wave-length there of.

What I suggest you do is get some people and start some fierce discussions on football related matters. Guests visiting this forum who like such discussions will register and join the battle, shifting the balance back again.
Yeah :) that's probably the right way to do it :thumb:

But anyways abt the lovey dovey's..... maybe u could correct me if i'm wrong but i think the amount of 'l luv u's' and such posts has already dropped some what ...... no? I mean..... look around the forum these few weeks...... not THAT many posts in that nature :)

Not the ideal situation, but improving nontheless

I know I'm kinda new here, but after reading so many different ideas and comments that's what I think.

Those non-soccer threads, just let it be, I see even "soccer-expext" members participate in them. And those who are not interested do not have to visit the threads.

Off-topic is to be avoided as much as possible but occasional smartass/stupid/silly comments to clown around a bit do not really hurt anybody as long as they don't detour the topic too much.

Those excessive smileys/ I love you comments, if we see a thread is going to be killed by them, we can report to the moderator and let them take care of that.

For someone who thinks agressive arguments are good, you can't really force people to change their style/personality etc just to please you, right?? Let everyone enjoy their stay here.

I don't want to force anyone to do anything! I'm actually rather offended that you would say something like that. The whole point of this thread was to tell people how I feel, so that they can make their own decisions, and so that everyone can see how the others feel. I knew that I did not stand alone in my disapproval of the direction of the forum, but these things need to be aired, no? I want to enjoy my stay here and I want everyone to enjoy their stay, that's why I started this thread, because it's become less and less enjoyable for me lately, and I have identified several reasons.

i don't have that tendancy. i never call person stupid for no reason. in fact, i almost never call person stupid. i rather say: you;re "smart""
i know, i am quite intolerant person, but i respect other opinios when they are reasonable but when someone comes and in the middle of the game says how sge would like to hug gigi i find that stupid. perobably you have this opinion because of my fights with lilliana and goat. well, i can repeat every word i said avout her and i'll stick to it for the rest of my life. as for the conflict with goat it was all about fun. it was "pissing each other off off-topic"

**** those heated discusions, not everyone likes them, ok, but i like arguments, not chit-chats here. what bothers me is that how does a person like e.g. dj-anna can gather 2500+ posts in couple of months and i really don't remember her talking about football. that was my point in the first place, for talks like that there's msn, icq, irc etc. keep this thrash away from here.

oh nevermind, right now i can't express myself in english. i'll be back
    Urm.... Fliakis.....

the point i see is that 1 girl going around a football forum with " i luv u" comments is bad enough.... and then a guy going around after the girl with insults..........football forum will just go

In my view...... those insults.... used to casually will become the same type of sillyness........ ie..... a crude version of meaningless, non-contributing, non-football related, not gd for the forum post.....

dun u think u might actually be having the same ultimate effect as the very person u detest so much?

pls note: i'm not asking u to become a softie or a sissy or whatever by never posting such insults..... just trying to say that too much or too harsh ..... well to me at least..... isn't right and is always unnecessary :)

Very good point, Sunshine, moderation is indeed a good thing. However, right now, I think that Fliakis' behaviour is in the minority by a low way, and I think that his grievances should be addressed.
