What happened to the days when it only took one word to set off a 100 post long arguement that went on for months? What happened to the times when people were serious about football? Now, all I see is people saying how much they love this player, and that player, and all these teams, and all that, and the "hate" threads are all about how hate is bad. What is that? Is it me, or was it more fun when people got pissed off about things? I thought that it was great when all you had to do was say you hated the English NT, and you'd have a bunch of hooligans on calling you a bigot and a racist, and trying to tell you that the English NT was the best thing since sliced bread. All of the passionate posters have left! Where is Paul? Where is Mac? What happened to Jules, Glen, Matt, Nekton, and IGOR? Where did they go? Even Denco isn't around much, hell, even I'm slipping...

So, I've got that out, but I've got a lot more to say, but somebody please, please get pissed off about this and let me know!

Heated discussions get closed down a lot faster by the mods these days!

Excellent, I was hoping that you would stop by the thread Majed. You are a person that I have to say something to. You pissed me off a lot. You used to follow up all my posts by saying that I liked Van der Sar, so my opinion was invalid. That really pissed me off, so I confronted you about it, but you just ran away. Why? Why didn't you pursue it with me, why not have a good clean spat about how much Edwin sucks and how you need to blame him for losing the scudetto, then I can say how much Juve are nationalists and how they were so despicable to Edwin and it can go back and forth, why not?

AS for starting a revolution, I think we could work through established channels to lighten up the place a bit. I mean to say, "Hey moderators, we need a little action here!" Instead of closing down a thread that gets into personal attacks, how about a little warning, or a lot of warning. Conflict is the air that forums breath on!

Ok, I went through posts here, and here you are few of my statements.

I wasnt here for some short time, but after my come back, I realised there are some changes, some of them nice, some weird.

About threads in Hangout forum: some of them are very good, some of them are really stupid, but if someone is interested in them - not my bussiness. If I dont like some thread, or dont find it interesting, I dont go there, dont read and dont participate. Is it so hard?

And what means, that some thread is quality and some other is not? The quality is the matter of taste and personal interestings, nothing more.

I will give some example: I came accross some thread. In the beginnig it was funny, but after some time I've read such statements there, which made me :rolleyes:

I was thinking, how low some person stepped down to say such things about girls, considering how many ladies is here around.
So my question is: someone had fun, I was :yuck:

Is it still qualify thread or no?
Who should jugde that?

About derailed threads... that's long story.
Such things happened here always, maybe it's worse now, cause the forum has many more memebers than earlier.
BUT reading previously posts: you people use so called "Kali's philosophy": when Kali steals a cow - that's cool, when someone steals a cow to Kali - that sux.
Cause we all are off-topic, we all derailed threads, but we dislike so much, when the others do that, and suddenly most of you pointed your fingers to other people, when you do the same.
WE ALL do the same.

About threads about handsome guys etc.
I've found here very interesting facts... we have many threads about: sexy girls, beautiful girls, footballer's girlfiends... etc, when YOU guys posted pics, and YOU were :drool:

all time. And no girl went there to :groan: on you.
But when it comes to girls and their threads about sexy footballers, handsome guys... wow! Suddenly appears, that is so huge problem for you, that they are full of your groaning and mocking.
So other rules for you and other rules for us? No way.

About talking about footballers butts, looks in many threads...
I remember such thread about Wimbledon: and when it came to speak about female tenis, the thread was full of statements like:
Serena Williams has awful body :yuck:

Kim Clisters is cool :lick:
Look at Kournikova's butt :drool:

So when it comes to discipline of sport, where female participate - for you guys it's obviously to talk about their looks at once.
And I'm sure, that if this forum had a part about female football - statements about girl's looks there would be normal.
But again, when we say sth about footballers looks, sth like in this example with Wimbledon, you are so angry, but you do exaclty the same, when it comes to sports with females.
So stop be such hypocrites, that only girls derailed every thread to footballers looks.

And in the end sth, what pissed me off, maybe I didnt realised that earlier, but how come, that some of you called us or Buffon nuts, Buffon freaks, or Buffon b*tches?

I dont mind calling us Buffon nuts or freaks, when you do that jokingly, but not with such attitude towards us these days...

That's not a secret, that I am/was active member of Buffon forum, so I'm :dazed: to hear such things.

And about Buffon forum...
I know, why you dont like it so much, but I'm not going to complain about this one. I will tell you about new little Buffon forum.
There is some small community, similar amount of fans like here, interested in everything connected with Gigi and other things.
And wow! what a shock there!

After one month it has good shape, the threads are on topic, when you want to see new pics - go to gallery, when you want to read articles - go to thread about articles, when you want to talk about Gigi's butt - go to Hangout thread.
When you want to talk about other things - go to proper threads - most of them on-topic threads.
Of course threads are off-topic too, but not for long, cause the admin asks people remind people nicely to continue off-topic thread in Hangout thread, or more: members go there themselves, cause they dont want to derail all threads.
No meaningless posts (like only to achieve next 100 today) cause the admin keeps such things in order.
And my point is, that there is a will, there is a way, and Gigi's forum doesnt have to look like crap, when everyone talks about everything everywhere, plus adding some ridiculous threads, just some good will to do that.

Please take a note: it's not, that I like this forum as it is now, maybe you thought so after my statements above.
BUT I was trying to show you guys, that you're accusing people over here (mostly girls) about all bad things, but you do the same, or similar, and take no blame for that.

2. The posters responsible for corupting the thread

3. The mods for allowing this to happen in the 1st place and then not do anything (like PMing the responsible parties for eg) abt it.

I wouldn't say that i "Ran Away." The joke just got really old. but please understand that it really did start as an argument and i so stand by my word when i say that VDS can't even compare to previous Juve GKs and Buffon right now.....i do like Arguments a lot and i was kinda pissed when the nike thread got closed, because it was really fun.

Please keep in ming that the VDS argument was useless because we were both hard for our opinions and there weren't any more arguments.....At a stage like this, i knew continuing was useless so i continued on with at as a joke to keep reminding you how crazy i think you are

..... though it's really interesting now that you've confessed that it pissed you off

BTW, "Revolution" was used too many times in History books, so if you dont mind i'd prefer if we used the, latest phrase "Regime Change"

i barely come here anymore and i dont really have anything to say concerning this problem that hasnt really been said. i think lots of people here were getting annoyed by the people that come only to the buffon forums (mostly females) and dont really have anything to contribute to the forums in general. i think that problem has been already solved because i believe the buffon forums are going to be deleted (someone correct me if im wrong)
also, you have to understand that women by nature tend to talk about a lot of topics and were not really as focused as you. i also think that its cool to talk about football and have off topic threads but all in an equal level. i think some threads such as "the cheer up thread" (im making examples, i dont know if this thread exists for real) are pretty stupid, but whatever floats their boats.
if people get pissed off because us girls are talking about men 24/7 then i suggest you to tell that girl if shes being annoying. i dont usually post a lot about the hotness of players just some comments between here and there
also, i agree with what you people say that every member should really contribute something to the forum. its just ridiculous (sp?) to come here just to post some smilies and be like "i love you dear!!"

OK, back on topic, I have read Vit's post (altho it was a bit long and I'm :sleepy: ) and I have to agree the rest of us derail threads as much as anyone, me included. I often go off topic joking around or saying something that has nothing to do with the issue at hand, but it doesnt seem to bother anyone because I'm not talking about the players' looks or how sexy he is. So the issue is less about the actuall derailing of threads and more about what it is thats derailing them. And yes, we too :drool:

over girls pics (altho in the right threads

) so it is kind of double standard.

I see your point Ian here.
You're saying, that all passionate posters are gone. It seems, that the forum is in new era now, era of niceness and softeness

And I dont mind that - I have enough stressful life outside this forum, so I wouldnt come here at all, if I had to argue with everyone about everything.

But you're right about good discussion - sometimes I feel lack of good discussion, but I guess my definition of discussion is different than yours, cause I like soft way of speaking

I like two way convos, when I'm talking to someone, I want to say my points and I want to hear my opponents points.
And I hate one way convos, when someone completely cant take my points of view, like dont read me at all, and give some ridiculous points, complately odd to things I said.
So maybe that's why I feel less and less will to have any discussion here, cause this is completely pointless for me.

Yes we do, but I dont agree with Fliakis at all on some points there.
To Flakis:
It's not about hard discussion etc. I dont mind them. But you've got tendency to say people things like: I hate you, you're idiot etc.
So these are personal remarks and statements to insult someone.
And it doesnt matter if I like someone here or not, but I will be always against personal remarks.

Discussion with: you're not right - yes.
Using personal insults: you're so stupid - no.

Okay, Vit, about the hypocracy that goes on here, I can only agree with you in part. First of all, by volume, the threads about hot girls and all that is small compared to the threads about goodlooking footballers or threads that turn into that. Also, generally, you don't find some guy saying, "Totti should be considered good because Selma Heyak is hot." That just doesn't make sense. But, conversely, you do see things like, "Zenoni should start for Sampadoria because he is cute." Do you see the difference?

As for our differences on discussion, I'll agree that an atmosphere that is too harsh can drive posters away, and it has in the past, I've seen it. But, at the same time, this atmosphere of anti-conflict is just as bad, IMO. There is no exitement around here anymore, there's no pitched battles. The Baggio-ites, and the Del Piero-iens get along and are all chum chum. It's sickening. The most conflict that goes down nowadays is between me and Martin, and it's not even about JUVE. It's about Barca and Madrid. And you know that I've never won an arguement with Martin...
