List of players who have reached their prime before turning 27 and then started fading:
Fernando Torres
Raul
Schevcenko
Dybala
Ronaldo Il Fenomeno
Ronaldinho
Henry(probably around 28-29)
Sergio Aguero

And I could probably go on a long way but I need to go have lunch.

What I'm saying is that we can squeeze the best out of him without buying him for 50+ mil and tying him down on a 5 year contract because there is a high chance he will be past his prime at that point.
8/10 troll. Very good effort.

So you can name 10-20 players (only 1 really from this era and he never was relying on speed) against like 3 million who didn't fade away at 28-29. Also I'd probably take anyone from that list in their 30s besides Dybala. Nice. I get the non-existing point now.

And no, we can't. PSG ain't morons. They're not going to loan him out forever.
I just don't see a good investment in us buying him for 50-70 mil when he's 27 years old, that's all. If we can loan him our with an option to buy again, that would be amazing. If not, we can't let them take us to the cleaners on this transfer.

I'd rather we gamble on the next Haaland or Vini J instead of buying a world class striker that is at his peak. I think Dybala is a good example of what good looks like when buying a striker. Buy young after he's had 1-2 good seasons and preferably sell at 25-26 when Barca offers you 100 mil. That's what we should have done with Chiesa as well.

The thing is we've already loaned him and he'll still be 26 for another 1/2 when the next transfer window comes. PSG is either giving us a deal with loan + obligation or option which becomes an obligation with certain parametres or they won't hand him over again. They could easily sell him, if he continues to play well that is.

Say we make it to the CL and we sell Vlahovic... We can't keep on gambling on young guns. And that's not only at the #9 position, really. Then I'd opt for 3-4 more experienced and proven players (not old) because we're seriously lacking in that and it comes with a winner mentality.
The buying young and selling high is always going to be a strategy limited a few succes stories and a few failures.

I agree with you in principle but I think that lately we have failed on all of our transfers for older players, and made a killing with our young player transfers. I'll give you a couple of examples:

Great players bought when under 25:

Yldiz
Conceicao
Thuram
Weah
Bremer (bought at 25)
Chiesa (great buy but should have sold when Chelsea offered 100 mil)
Pogba (at 20)
Cambiaso
Gatti
McKennie
Kulu
Christian Romero (but then we sold him)

Shit signings 26:
Koop
Douglas Luiz
Nicolas Gonzales
Milik
Pogba (at 29)
Ramsey
Di Maria

Sure you have a few outliers like Vlahovic, Danilo, De Ligt but the trend seems to be positive when we buy younger than 25. Pogba is a pure example of what good looks like from our side and what bad looks like from Man United's side. Up until we brought him back at 29.

That list is completely off as you're forgetting many older top players that were levels above the mediocre bunch you mentioned plus nimwits like Adzic, Djalo, Arthur, etc. It's not that simple. Quality isn't always about about age.

Just saw a report that Jungtoli wants another loan for next year to delay the start of paying the rumored 75M until the following year. Maybe we'll finish off paying his fee when he's 32 or something.
Yo dawg we heard you like loans. So we put a loan on your loan so you can loan while you loan

Kolo Muani on Sky Sport :

"Happy to have brought back the smile, it pushes me to work even harder. The future? For now, I’m not worried about it. I’m just enjoying the moment and I hope to do even more."
“There is more work and effort here. I'm happy to be in Turin"

THE WORDS -
"Everything is going more than well, I'm really happy to be here. I was welcomed very warmly, like in a big family. I spoke with the coach, with the captains, and I get along well with all my new teammates. Honestly, I feel really good. We work a lot, but we work well. It’s a big change compared to Ligue 1. Here, we work much more, we push ourselves harder, and football is much more tactical. I had a great debut; my teammates helped me a lot, they provided me with the right passes, and I was able to make the most of them. Again, I’m really happy to be here in Turin, and I hope this good moment continues in the future."
BIG CHALLENGE -
"It's a big challenge, a huge one. It's a derby. We need to prepare as best as possible, and that’s exactly what we're doing these days. I think Sunday will be a great match, the best opportunity to show what we’re capable of—not just to our fans but to everyone watching the game. It’s up to us to show our highest level, to give everything for the jersey, and bring home the three points."
FUTURE -
"I'm really pleased, it means I’ve made a good impression. I'm very happy to have brought smiles back, and that not only makes me happy but also pushes me to work even harder. For now, I’m not worried about the future. I’m just enjoying the moment and hoping to do even more…"
