I'm going to err on the side of caution and take this as PR spin from Benitez' camp. Plus it juices up the media and its followers, i.e. us

BBC Radio 5 live have just reported that Benitez has had 2 meetings with Broughton scheduled recently but cancelled both.

All his comments just smack of someone preparing the ground for his departure.

Are you sure he can resign just like that?
I don't have the details of his contract, but I assume it's a more or less general football contract he has, which would mean he would have to pay damages to Liverpool (most likely an amount equal to the remaining amount he was to be paid if he continued the job).

That's how it usually goes at least:
- Club fires you, they need to pay out the remainder of the contract (unless both parties agree to a different solution, for instance when the fired one has found a new club)

or

- You resign, you need to pay up because you don't live up to the contract you signed. Usually it's not the manager himself that pays, but rather the new club he's going to. Essentially, if we want Benitez, we need to "buy" his current contract from Liverpool, unless all parties agree to a different solution.
Or there is a mutual parting of the ways, where little or no cash changes hands, which is what Juve will be looking for in this case.

Agnelli doesn't approve of benitez, and is making inquiries into prandelli and spalletti

*sigh*
:lol2:

The Great Agnelli wants a shitty Italian coach instead of the best one regardless of nationality?

I trust Agnelli will still get the sort of personal abuse a non-Agnelli would get for such a decision.

Allegri is close to Udinese. I would like to see Spalletti here though. If Rafa wants so much money for leaving Liverpool then I'd rather we leave him.

Manuel Garcia Quilon, has denied any contact with the British media by saying that Benitez Juventus wants to stay in Liverpool: "None of Juventus called me and there is no offer came. Benitez's goal is stay in Liverpool and working with new owners to improve the team. " He added: "It 's under contract with Liverpool (until 2014 ed) and want to stay in England."

You mean it will be in 3 years when that post actually materialises to the real world.
because diego was so up to joining us in serie B? when i said it will be either the first or 2nd season in europe he will join, you seen it yourself in one of his press conferences how he admitted it took 2 and a bit years for the deal to materialise.
