The Russian Federation had nothing to do with Guus ridiculous request. According to reports, they already gave him the green light to work with a club side. It was all about him and his greedy agent.

I think Guus wanted more than 6 mil/y, and he was greedy enough to ask for a 3.5 mil for the 6 remaining months of this season, which makes it a ridiculous 7 mil/y.

Plus, Capello >>>>>>> Guus. No comparison between the two! If we used to pay Capello 5 mil/y, why the hell should we pay Guus 6 mil/y?
About the Russian Federation-who knows. Those guys are capable to do everything!!!

As for Guus I really didn't know he wanted 3,5 mil Euros per 6 months...that is really really really tooooooooooo damn much...

I think that crapello is not >>>>>>> Guus, but that's only my opinion.

It's Capello.

Capello has almost never failed as a coach (except for one season in 97 with Milan) and he has much more trophies than Guus. You need to check the stats if you haven't already seen the Guus of Real Madrid and Real Betis.

He's a great coach, no doubt about that, but he's getting overhyped too much.

Capello is the best in terms of getting success IMO

He failed big time with us in Europe. The squad with Vieira, Emerson, Canna and Thuram was probably the best starting XI we have ever had. At least seven players were world class. And we couldn't even trouble Arsenal.

I think that Russian Federation actually play some silly games trying to earn some extra money on Guus. And Guus is just their weapon to get the money. I wouldn't be surprised at all because they have criminals in every segment of their system.

14 is damn much I think that 6mil/y would be the exact wage and considering we used to pay 5 mil/y to crapello it's not a big difference .
it's 6 million a year, but you also pay 6 million for taxes. Plus bonues and what not the total is close to 14 million. That's a lot for a coach that has not really won anything in a while now, no matter how good he is at turning squads around. If he is to earn that much then the anything less than a treble would be a failure since he would be earning more than any of our players.

You can't compare Capello to Guus. Capello came in the pre-calciopoli were we still were a powerhouse financially, plus we had CL money. Now we don't have that kind of money, and we are out of the CL. Also Capello is one of the greatest managers of all time. The guy wins titles almost everywhere he goes the it, so the money spent was justified. Guus is goos, but is he 14 million a season good?

I feel Guus is massively overrated here. People are making him a demi-god on the level of guys like Capello, Mourinho, Ferguson, Lippi and Del Bosque.

indeed he failed in europe but it's more of calcio's fault imo. look at todays merda. they are winning like machine in league but shitting in cl. maybe you have to sacrifice cl in order to creating a system to win Scudetto.

Capello is a league winner
Guus is a sanitar, who fixes the broken and makes the world overrate a shit-full squad while he is coaching it.
Benitez is the talented guy, who needs to get a new challenge. I totally wouldn't mind him here. Though I'd like to see us overpaying coach like Guus for once, since coach is the one that has the biggest impact, if your team is not Brazil02 or Barca09.

As much as I despise rafa on a personal basis, and if i can look past his appalling financial profligacy, I must agree with everyone who is saying, he would be the best of the bunch available...My hope will be that we end up with Guus, or another manager who is out of work at the end of the season, perhaps a world cup coach...but who, really??? could I mean by this???...I would like to see Wenger come, over Rafa. Capello could return, but only if england get pummelled. A semi final appearance would be enough for him to want to stay there and for them to keep him...If its Rafa, or zach/gentile/zoff/trap/van basten/laudrup...then I would welcome him, and hope for the best. But if i include prandelli and gasperini in the mix, i would go for them instead. Not just because they are italian, but because they are talented.

Essentially...I don't doubt that Benitez could do a damn sight better than Ciro. And I hope Zach does so also, whilst he is with us. It could launch him onto other jobs, just not with us come august...
