Still sounds pretty expensive when 7 players all fail to impress.
That's over the course of 5 years. Kronkamp and Voronin were free. Compare the successful players to those that flopped. (I even left out two players that can't considered flops but owe their footie success to Rafa bringing them to Anfield;))

Fergie, spending all that money on Anderson, Nani, and Berbatav. We never hear anything about that lot.

Truly well spoken, sir.

I forgot all about Yossi, he's been out for a bit so he slipped my mind.

For the record, the majority of Rafa's failures in the transfer market were bargain buys that just didn't pan out. Gonzalez, Josemi, Pennant, Voronin, Kronkamp... all under 6 million pounds.

And then there are Robbie Keane (bad luck) and Ryan Babel (little cunt).
6 million is a big deal for Juve

and This is what I don't like about his transfer... he likes to buy 2-3 mediocre player instead of world class players.

Oh wait... it's Juve's style as well :sergio:

Or he buys Mascherano and Torres and Benyoun and Kuyt and Lucas and Agger and Riera. All within about two seasons.

While I'll agree that at the beginning Rafa was buying crap players to fill the squad list, he's certainly gone against that trend recently.

That is true, and Berbatov is an incredibly overrated player.

Benitez is truly one underrated manager around these parts. He's just lost the plot and needs a new atmosphere.

Anyway, if Rafa is able to turn things around I doubt he will leave this summer. Especially if the owners decide to sell or at least clear some of the debt they've invested in the club by forking over a little change from the franchise sales they've made this year and add it to the new sponsorship deal.

After the last two matches I think he may be turning things around. The injuries have forced him to coach again, but we'll see if he can keep it going.

sounds like THE PROJECT of Juve.

but we are worse

starting from expensive crap like Tiago, Almiron, Andrade
to expensive non-performing starters like Melo

That and Rafa's invested in a crop of youngsters that are on the verge of making the first team. Either that or making 2-3 million pounds each for the club.

He is wretched in the transfer market..having wasted far more $$$ than any other top club in any of the top european leagues. He exudes arrogance, very very rarely accepts culpability for his mistakes, and is perhaps my most despised manager in the modern game. Last, but not least, he is a failing manager...failing miserably at a big club. Just what we need eh! And the vast majority of my opinion of the man, comes from my time in england, where i saw him, heard him, read him, and his team, for several seasons, day after day...He is never spoken about as one of the best managers, amongst my english comrades, not even the scousers. A lucky manager, more than a talented manager...
