Hate the way he brings in useless players. Also off late (even last season when they were in the running for the league) he sometimes appears extremely clueless to what is happening on the pitch.

My thoughts on him:

- A coach should be a good tactician: Benitez passes this, he is an excellent tactician.

- A coach should be a good developer of talent: Benitez horribly fails here, as no young player under his tenure has asserted themselves. Chelsea has had young talent explode, Manure, and of course Arsenal. Benitez has signed young players like Babel, N'Gog, Aurelio, etc, few at all have succeeded.

- He has spent worse than Secco. Seriously, his buys have been dreadful. With the exception of Torres and Mascherano, everyone has been a bust.

No thanks.

Coaching at a young age i.e. 12-16 isn't the manager's job.

It's not his fault if the club isn't producing players good enough to make it to the first team squad.

It's not like there have been a bunch of young players leaving Liverpool and turning out to be good players elsewhere.

As I already said, I think Rafa is kinda unerrated here.

I always liked him, I think he's a very good coach and I'd surely consider him for long term plans.

Reina, Riera, Kuyt, Aurellio, Insua, and Agger are all good players.

He is good tactician and I think his 4231 system suits Juve.
I liked him when he was coaching Valencia. Fluid passing game with solid zonal defence.

But I don't like his squad-rotating approach. And he is shit in buying players.

    :agree:

I know I'm in the minority here but I think Benayoun is pretty good too.
I forgot all about Yossi, he's been out for a bit so he slipped my mind.

For the record, the majority of Rafa's failures in the transfer market were bargain buys that just didn't pan out. Gonzalez, Josemi, Pennant, Voronin, Kronkamp... all under 6 million pounds.

And then there are Robbie Keane (bad luck) and Ryan Babel (little cunt).

Still sounds pretty expensive when 7 players all fail to impress.
