Please he has better technique than Almiron.Nainggolan is like Vidal without the offensive prowess. He's a great player defensively, simply put and i am not even overrating.

I agree that there are differences between Nainggolan and Almiron as players, but my response to venus_isle, who expressed concern that it might end up being another "almiron transfer", was based on that I see similarities between Nainggolan's situation and hype at a small club like Cagliari and Almiron's situation and hype at a small club like Empoli, before we signed him. They aren't similar players, I know that, and I'll agree that Nainggolan is better, but he still hasn't convinced me enough so as to justify spending 18 million euros on him.

I should've been clearer about what I meant.

I thought he was more of a B2B midfielder with endless stamina
Yeah what Gattuso was basically. In terms of style he resembles Gattuso a lot.

Like i've said ,the fact that they're allowing us to take him a on a loan + option to buy deal is a big thing in itself. And in such deals there needs to be some benefit on their side as well, hence we have to overpay than what we would normally pay for him.

Although in today's market 18m is a fair price for him.

It's almost the double of what Vidal cost us just a couple of seasons back.
Oh common mate.Vidal's price is more to do with circumstances(expiring contract) and i dont even know why he is being mentioned in this context.Besides Nainggolan only recently signed a contract extension. If we want quality we'll need to pay for it and Radja is quality.

If you base all transfer prices on Vidals fee then i'm afraid that 99% of possible transfers will come up short.

He's now in many peoples opinion the number 1 player in his position. And we got him for barely over 10M. We can't use that as an indication of what we should be willing to pay. Might aswell just say 'Pirlo was free' and never spend a penny on anybody ever again.

Let's compare with Asamoah, then. We paid 18 for Asamoah, but I think Asamoah is a better player. All I'm saying is that I'm hoping we can get Nainggolan for no more than 12-14 million. I think his value lies there somewhere. 18 million is overpaying in my opinion. He doesn't have a lot of suitors either. There's Inter, but if they wanna splash 18 on him, we should pass and let them have him.

14/15m + half of Bouy should close the deal. I would rather take Jorginho instead of Nainggolan, but apparently Conte prefers Radja. He is very good player too, but in my opinion we have plenty of strong holders in the midfield (Vidal, Pogba) and it would be prudent to add some creativity and vision.

Nainggolan in terms of defensive contribution looks like second-best version of Vidal, so I wonder if we are trying to secure ourselves in case of Arturo departure in the summer? Let's hope not.

Nah this move has nothing to do with Vidal

There is literally no indication he wants to move or we're willing to sell him. He wouldn't have signed a big contract otherwise because ultimately we can dig our heels in and keep him here for a very long time
It's not like he could run down his contract.

Plus we've been linked with Radja since he was about 2 weeks old ffs.

And yes I know players often sign new contracts and then leave but Vidal extended his, he signed away any leverage he had in demanding a move away, so it's all just pure speculation.

They have different qualities.Tactically and defensively i think Nainggolan is better but Asamoah is more well rounded than him.

Most top clubs in Italy want him but only few can afford him.He is not short of suitors at all.And he doesnt represent his NT yet so internationally he's expected to have a low profile.
