Tiago, Almiron, Iaquinta, Amauri, Diego, Melo, Quaq, Vucinic, Matri, Vidal, Pirlo belong to a certain player profile, (and i really doubt tackles or clinical finishing is their common characteristic)
they form the center of creating scoring chances, with penetrative runs, through passes and yes dribbling past their opponent when needed.
We had more defensive oriented options, but they were swiftly given the axe, Sissoko and Melo being some prime examples of them, constantly criticized for the lack of abilities that would help them contribute in the offensive built up, thats why we have turned attention to CMs and completely ignored DMs.
The special characteristics are randomly overlooked, as the true aim, was to win the impressions for the fans and actual tactical advantages that would improve the performance of the team, had lesser relevance.
For example Melo was flawless defensively, but he became the ultimate scape goat, only for not offering much offensively, despite the fact that he was a Brazilian, and it wasnt never his role to do that...
It wouldnt be the first time we would act with little prudence and get carried away, by the offer.
Naiggo holds some hype in Serie A, for his dominant appearance, being the star in a mediocre team.
Being in Cagliari, also makes him an easier target rather than lets say, De Rossi, we have made far too many transfers like that to ignore the pattern that repeats its self.
I made my self clear, (if that wasnt already), regardless of the true reasons of our interest.
Thankfully this interest is solely manufactured by the press, which follows they common's fans logic and promises him, what he wants to hear.
The section of our fans that hyped and chanted over the acquisitions of the players i mentioned, regardless of their tactical need, will be easily moved by the Naiggol rumors,
these rumors, IMO, are adressed to them, Italians press have always used this tactic to sell papers.
I really believe/hope that the appearances of this summer mercato are not that misleading and we have switched strategy to upgrading performance!

amazing post. Would read again.There is a pattern that repeats it self, in the very first year i noticed, it was debatable, far fetched maybe, but after a decade long of being repeating ti self each and every year, only a fool would ignore it or a hyppocrite.

Pirlo said that he will move on, when he will feel that he wont be a starter.
We are still somewhat Pirlo dependant. It is unclear yet, if Pirlo will not be able to keep up in this level as of next year.
It is a bit premature to buy his successor atm. Esp considering that there is no immediate need, as Pogba can already offer a decent starter option.
so no, it is not because of Pirlo, when Pirlo leaves, we will be interest of a player of this caliber then.
There is no real tactical or strategical need of Naiggo, as Naiggo does not share Pirlo's tactical skills, neither his class.
The only thing that Naigoo offers, is an influent presence in the midfield, without specialisation, this sounds more like Marchisio...
but it still is early to make a permanent choice for his future as well, so the only real motive behind the hypothetical interest on Naiggo is vanity, sign him because he is rated and because we can...
