Remember 'nain' a bit like German, then two 'g' like Buffon, rest is easy :D

As I said before about him, I think he could go some way to cover all our current CMs, Pirlo less than the others of course.

Matuidi is something of an all round athletic midfielder, isn't he? Seems a more obvious back up for Vidal than anyone?
From starter at PSG to backup at Juve.Sounds legit.
That said i think he'll extend his contract in due time. The problem apparently is wages and if hr doesnt want to extend he'd clearly want a team that offers him good money. And we are not that type.

I said in the summer that the Juve squad looked a midfielder short when they didn't replace Giaccherini.

My opinion on that hasn't changed.

Now, by all means argue that Juve need another cheap option like Giaccherini, rather than going big for a player like Nainggolan, but I don't understand claims that Juve have plenty of midfielders.

And I believe ~15m is a fair price for Nainggolan in today's market.

Nainggolan will also only have a year left on his contract in the summer of 2014, no?

I think he's a good very good player and able to do most things in the middle short of being a Pirlo. And I agree with Red that we're a CM short. Pirlo injured, injury to one of Vidal, Marchisio or Pogba and factoring in that the players will need some sort of rest with CL schedules. Not that far from having Padoinho as the first name on the team sheet for a CL quarter final. Unless, of course, we magically get to see some of Bouy.

I think we need a CM, LB and RW.

Bouy out on loan, Nainggolan in on loan in the winter with option.
Criscito (or some other LB) and Cerci (or some other RWF) in in the summer with DC/Peluso and Isla making way.

Well, at least interfans, who were hopeful of signing him, will be pissed.

:beppe:
You jest, but that's not an issue to be dismissed entirely.

While some would debate whether signing Nainggolan is really a necessity for Juve, he would be a great signing for Inter, Milan, Napoli, etc..

The opportunity to sign a player that strengthens Juve and prevents their rivals from strengthening - Nainggolan would make a huge difference to someone like Napoli - is not to be sniffed at.

Struggling to see anything definitive regarding the length of his contract.

Transfermarkt says 2015, but Gazzetta suggests it was extended to 2016.

I'm getting old and forgetful but now that you mention it I seem to recall something regarding a (short) extension. For the life of me, I can't remember where I heard it though.

Either way, it would appear that Cellino is willing to play ball and I'd certainly be willing to pay €15M for him. Doubt Calgari will demand more anyway - he only seems to be on the radar in Italy and clubs aren't exactly loaded with cash here.

I think he signed an extension just at the end of the summer window once no transfer materialised.

He got a wage increase and Cagliari got the security of him having an extra year on the deal to make it easier for them to negotiate a decent fee when they came to selling.

I was going to add rotation, but really at big clubs we can talk about starters but there are so many good players in these teams it depends on form or preference.

Next we'll be moaning about having no quality depth, can't have it both ways. More competition for places is good as long as the wage bill does not suffer. At the moment Vidal is playing a bit too much.

in a recent interview conte suggested he still dreams of the 4-2-4 but doesnt have the players for it....and well nainggolan is the perfect midfielder for that '2 in midfield'...and well he's still sniffing for that wide player...like a cuadrado...i relly like cuadrado...

Of course it would be amazing to have Matuidi in a rotation position, I just believe (and I think that's what Cusp meant), that Matuidi is prbably not really willing to accept such a role, he'd want to be a starter.

I'd rather have Nainggolan than any of the current LB, RW who are on the market.

We really do need a fourth midfielder and he possesses the skillset Vidal has which no other midfielder in the team has.

He'd be a fantastic signing without a doubt.
