Our animals, our man, our woman, our spacestation were first in Space, we always were first, and if US is all might why they only had 1 odyssey to the Moon? Why they don't want to discover the moon again?

Look at this photo "from the Moon" - do you realize that there is no wind in space? And if you do look at the flag....
The Chernobyl brain looks like it's not gonna change anytime soon huh?

I think RUS lives on the moon, that's why he's so certain of who was and wasn't there.

Regardless of nationality, regardless of whether you believe the moon landings were real or not, a beloved public figure has passed away. Come now, can't these fights be taken somewhere else?

Rest in peace, Armstrong.
It's RUS. Logic isn't his strongest attribute, instead he tries to make outlandish comments that will get him attention.

Seriously tho, how the $#@! is the flag waving in space ffs?
First it is held in place by a horizontal bar on top, don't forget. And secondly, you need to remember the laws of momentum and that there is a very thin atmosphere on the moon. Therefore there is no air resistance to stop the flag from swaying back and fourth repeatedly, so the laws of momentum acting on the flag will simply do their part.

It's in the vacuum of space.

The pull of gravity is also much weaker on the moon as the moon is a much smaller object than the earth. Too far to be affected by Earth's gravity in any noticeable way too.

Why would anyone send a flag all the way to the moon with the intention of having it droop statically in its atmosphere-less environment like a barren stick?

Maybe that's how the Soviet space program would have planned it, but... :shifty:

    Burn.

But conspiracy theories will never end. I wonder how some people even bother to think like that. How could you be that paranoid and out of touch?

for all practical purposes, that's true

iirc, the g acceleration on the moon surface is about 6 times smaller than it's value on the surface of the Earth, which is by no means nothing and the flag would have still drooped off the pole had it not been for that crossbar.

the explanation for the "waves" on the flag that I have read about and also heard in a seminar talk is that the astronauts couldn't fully extend the crossbar, which cause the flag to be bunched up thus creating the illusion of waves.

Oh come on, how can someone be such a child.

Would be good for you to gain some actually knowledge and look at things with your own brain, instead of repeating false myths you heard somewhere.

Well I said that because the atmosphere is there, but very negligible. It is still denser than space, but pretty much the same properties as a vacuum though.
