...

I don't really understand why everybody is willing to splash out millions for an unproven, hyped up player. We already have promising starlets such as Palladino, Paolucci and Giovinco to nurture. Why on earth can't we just give these guys a chance before wasting more money?

Some people's eyes are bigger than their minds it seems.

I hope we nurture Palladino as well, but the truth is he and Quag are almost the same age, and Palladino is not even close to accomplishing for the Azzurrini what Quag has done for the (freakin') Azzurri so far. We acquired a fairly unknown Zambrotta from Bari once, we bought a Camoranesi that only a few people knew about from Hellas Verona, and if we go even further back we took a chance on a young Alessandro Del Piero who played his football at Padova. I expect great things from the Quag and I believe he could be like the above players, a great player (in the making).

Most of all I like his attitude...i mean the statement he made about walking to Turin was just gr8...and also that he scores some cracking goals!

Couldn't agree more on your comparison with Palladino. Palla is still not good enough to number among the starters but Quagliarella has shown awesome form.

Much better form than Barzagli (although obv in a different position) who would be the same price. Partic if Nedved retires Quag is a great Italian replacement - the only player one can viably see filling that role that we are linked to.

But Quag can't be considered a replacement for Nedved, guys, both play in different positions Nedved is an OM, Quag is a striker or second top like Recoba or Suazo but not a midfielder

We've already spent so much on the players we've bought so far I really don't think we'd gamble on Quagliarella at 10m. Especially if Miccoli is not sold.

If I'm the board I'd use the money (probably with another million or two) to buy someone who can have an immediate effect in defence or midfield.

Cassano is available on a free, maybe he could be the option of that playmaker, as he played in the Euro.

for me i think it makes sense, sure Quag is different to Nedved, but that all depends on the formation. If Ranieri was going to use Nedved on the left flank in the 3 man trio behind the striker, then Quag can play this role fine. Obviously Quag is no natural winger...but tthose tactics wont be played.

10 million is a lot, but its worth the gamble, maybe Miccoli can be used in the deal. Lets not forget we have some money up our sleeve...if trez leaves we use that cash to replace him, we can use miccoli in a deal to get a good CB.

I dont think the money is an issue right now, we have made good signings so far and fixed many probs already.

Quagliarella seems genuine in his love for Juve. I think we NEED him here because we definately need someone with that attitude. He is very good too, and young.

I think it's goin to be

DP----------------Iaquinta

Almiron-------Tiago

------Zanetti-------

and a defence that is left to build
