Juventus are not interested in Quagliarella. This was revealed by Sampdoria's General Manager, Beppe Marotta, who on the other hand confirmed that Manchester United are following the young forward. The Blucerchiati will be discussing in the coming weeks the possible loan of the Old Lady's second goalkeeper Mirante.

According to todays Corriere dello Sport mention is made of Mirante. In what context I'm not sure. The name Quagliarella features in the headline next to Tiago.

If Juventus have given up on Huntelaar, then Quagliarella - highly rated by many, not just Sir Alex Ferguson and other connexions at Manchester United - appears to be the correct solution.

So we still need to sign five players. Six if Trez leaves.

maybe Quagliarella will become a star in the future, but i'm afraid that he's just another Miccoli... he's still not proved to be a very talented player.

It seems that the transfer of Tiago from Lyon to Juventus has been sealed as the Portuguese midfielder is expected in Turin later on today for the medical tests, along with Sergio Almiron, before signing the contract which will tie him to the Old Lady for the next four years.

This was reported this morning by the daily sports newspaper 'Corriere dello Sport', which also stated that the Bianconeri will also obtain Fabio Quagliarella from Udinese, after the latter managed to beat Sampdoria's competition for the young Italian forward thanks to the envelopes.

The Friulani have in fact offered 7 million Euros, whereas Sampdoria offered 'only’ 6.3 million Euros.

If this report is confirmed, then the Bianconeri's forward line would be almost complete, with the only issue being the renewal of David Trezeguet's contract which should be solved within the next few weeks.

Quagliarella is an unproven talent and will honestly not add much to the current squad we already have. He's no Trezeguet, he's no Del Piero, he's no Nedved nor Camoranesi. He's not even as proven as Iaquinta.

At the momment we haven't really bought anybody who's "proven" as in Top rated players.

Quagliarella isn't any different, but for somebody who doesn't believe we wont challange immediately for scudetto, don't you believe perhaps we can take a chance on up and coming players?

True, but we cant just go and buy talents! we need some established players.
If we wont be able to challenge for scudetto, we have to do so for a CL spot...

This player is wanted by Man U and now when Juve try to sign him ...u say he isn't proven ...not enough he scored 2 goals fot italy ...and his goals are are MAGICS

He is one of the most wanted players in Italy so why not?
We have Trez, Camo, Nedved, DP, Buffon, Zanetti and maybe Tacchi assuming they will all stay.
Tiago has already played for Porto (won cl), Chelsea and now Lyon and Milito is one of the best defenders in la liga (if Real wants him, he can't be bad).
Salihamidzic has been playing for Bayern for many years on the highest level and Grygera has a lot of international experience with Ajax and Czechia, I think we have enough proven talent and experience in our team.
I think it is a good signing if Quagliarella joins us, a good prospect for the future.

True. But like DP said, better to spread the butter than pile it on one dude.

Besides, established stars cost a lot of money, the only we we'll get Established players in the striking role is to sell Trez.

No way are we paying 25mil euros for a rotational player. At the momment the position is filled by Del Pie and Trez with the others in rotational roles. unless we play 4-3-3, which by the looks of our transfer strategies, might be the case.

A few seasons ago we lost out on Cristiano Ronaldo, look where he is now.
And how bout Kaka? If you want up and coming players u take risks. If u want established players you should support Real Madrid. :smoke:

Its amusing to read how all players in this planet will almost sign for Juve in the next couple of weeks :D
If Quagliarella is signing for Juve then I cannot complain. He seems to have a decent future and is a good addition to the squad. But all these players don't matter. WE WANT TWO CB. If we maange to this, then we will be more than ok.
If we seal the deals of Milito and Barzagli we will have a very strong team.

We will have 2, name me a few established players that will be willing to give up Cl-football or Uefa cup football in a season were there is a EC?
Not mentioning, we also need to be able to afford them.

I think he is considered a backup for Nedved because that seems to be the only position that has no alternative except maybe Palladino.
