Not a Trez replacement, but I think he could be a 2nd option to Huntelaar. We can use him like Zalayeta and let him grow.

Besides, I think Trez is staying according to tuttosport :weee:

But that's Tuttosport. They once linked me with Bashar Al-Assad.

Jeez... those goals are amazing... if the price is right, sign him up!
25 million Euros... no the price is not right. The guy scores amazing goals but he is not a proven talent. Azzurri fans love to swarm over those who score goals for them, but they are as biased as EPL lovers. Lets observe him one more year in Serie A and then make a decision.

I agree about Quagliarella being a welcome addition to nostra bella squadra Juve! I'm a great believer in youth and young talent is ALWAYS the way forward! I've seen him interviewed on Rai Due, and he is "un uomo giusto," not just a talented footballer."

Quagliarella's box of tricks
Saturday 9 June, 2007

Fabio Quagliarella is the new Azzurri hero and told fans to expect the unexpected. “I’ll never stop surprising you! Each goal will be different.”

The Sampdoria man has made his name by scoring spectacular goals in Serie A this season and took that to international level with two crackers in the 2-0 victory over Lithuania.

“It was Walter Novellino who taught me to start out wide in order to reach the goal. Now you always need to invent something new, because the opponents study your tapes hundreds of times to figure you out,” said the 23-year-old.

“So I try to surprise them. I always want to create something new and never score two goals alike!”

In the case of a lob from 40 metres against Chievo with his back to goal, that is very likely an accurate prediction.

All these incredible strikes have put Quagliarella on the radar of every top European side including Inter, Roma, Juventus, Manchester United and Liverpool.

“I have scored two goals for Italy, now it’s time for others to do the work for me! I am going on holiday and for a month will break away completely.

“Until the co-ownership between Sampdoria and Udinese is clarified, nothing can happen anyway. Samp believed in me and I am happy in Genoa, as it has the sea like Naples and the people respect you. The crucial thing is to be in a side that lets me play.”

If Napoli manage to achieve promotion this weekend, then they could leap into pole position in the race for the hottest property on the transfer market.

“I am from Naples and a fan of Napoli, so to play there would be a dream come true, but it doesn’t only depend on me.”

Until he can pull on their jersey, Quagliarella will be waving his Napoli scarf at Marassi on Sunday afternoon.

Napoli take on Genoa in a head-to-head battle for the last remaining automatic promotion place along with Juventus and the Sampdoria striker will be in the stands to cheer on his home team.

This is a moment of great joy for Quagliarella, but he always reserves a moment to focus on absent friends.

“I received 140 text messages complimenting me for those Italy goals,” he revealed. “They were all special, but above all from Giovanni Galli. I was good friends with his son Niccolò and we played together in the Under-21 side. That is why I wear his Number 27 shirt.”

Niccolò Galli was a promising young prospect at Fiorentina, Arsenal and Bologna who was tragically killed in a motorbike accident on his way home from training on February 10, 2001 at the age of 17.

In his brief career, he was able to win the FA Youth Cup with Arsenal in 2000.

i think milan will let us have gila for like 10-12 milions...
gila is juventino since childhood and he stated it many times.
and what? Im a juventino too, and should they sign me or what?
Nobody can replace Trez. Hes a naturall finisher. But the best opinion will be the Hunter if he leaves(in my opinion).
The others we are linked to arent really goalscorers. We need in the front a player that can score 20+ goals in a season, and Trez is such a person.

He's not going to be sold for anything close to 25 million euro... nor is anyone gonna line up an immediate stupid bid one week after showing everyone he's got game (against lowly Lithuania of all teams) with his brace. Obviously, if Trez leaves, and the sticker price on Quagliarella reflects his youth a little more whilist the hype dies down a little, I'd definitely consider him... sometimes the ability to frequently score a beautiful goal is worth its weight in gold, just even for marketing sakes.

Samp set Quagliarella price
Monday 11 June, 2007

Sampdoria director general Beppe Marotta has valued Fabio Quagliarella at over £10m, but says the Blucerchiati will do all they can to keep him.

The forward’s impressive season was crowned by a brace in Wednesday’s Euro 2008 qualifier against Lithuania, making him one of the hottest properties on the transfer market.

“We are evaluating his future, every decision must be taken with Udinese who co-own the player, but we have an excellent relationship with them,” Marotta told Rai Radio Anch’io Sport.

“The player’s value is set by the market itself,” he explained, having earlier claimed that they were unlikely to receive a bid which they deemed reasonable for the Azzurri newcomer.

“If I compare Quagliarella to Alberto Gilardino and Francesco Tavano, I would say that he can be considered intermediate between the two of them and can be valued at approximately £10-14m.

“Obviously we want to keep him and will do all we can, but we must consider the financial needs of both us and Udinese. In any case, we will only consider extraordinary offers, otherwise we will keep him.”

Marotta confirmed that there are many outfits interested in the player’s services, especially due to his relatively young age.

“Many outfits are keen on signing Quagliarella, he is 23-years-old and can still improve a lot,” he explained.

We will do what we can to keep him, but we will need to understand what other clubs are willing to offer,” concluded the Blucerchiato.

Quagliarella, a reported target for Juventus and Manchester United, declared that he only wants to be granted continuous playing time.

“I am on a co-ownership deal and that may be renewed. The important thing now is for me to play consistently,” stated the Naples-born striker after the victory against Lithuania.

£10-14m is not bad for him. regardless of his 'wonder goals' he shows alot of talent for his age and it can grow only with a great team like juve.

since we are loosing strikers lately we must get some new ones.
