None of these kids are standing out at all. You'd think they're Beckham, Giggs and Scholes by how much people cry for them.

De Winter looks closest to having any kind of senior role. Miretti and Soule are toothpicks, they'd get blown away from the pitch in a senior game of any intensity. Soule especially hasn't done anything since being called up for Argentina. I've watched him 3-4 times since, you'd think a guy 'who's better than bums in the first team' would be able to look like THE guy among kids at least

Those penalty misses were so bad, I hope they learn from this.
Turco hit the ball totally wrong, a part of his heel instead of the inside of his foot. Soule pulled a Jorginho.

Im not going to complain, hard match. We gave it away very early and bounced back with some luck after the red card. Top 4 in YL is a good result. Penalties are a lottery in many cases.

Benfica shot them nearly perfect tho.

The thing with youth football is that you’ll find players often having off days, unless you’re following some generational talent. That’s exactly the thing at that age.

You also have to take into consideration especially with Soule and Miretti that they’re not full members of the U19, besides the YL they don’t play and probably don’t even train with them. They’re going back and forward between U19, U23 and the first team.

Nobody is asking for more than some decent minutes in games that are already won or against low tier teams, nothing extraordinary really. If you’re fully against that idea than I’d advise you to simply not waste your time on the primavera.

Well that's the thing, none of the games are already won. This team struggles against every opponent until the last minute. In a better team I believe these two would have more minutes. But now that we fight for every point tooth and nail it is simply too risky. For us and for them. If Miretti makes a mistake like that in a senior game he is written off right away.

Look at Mejbri vs Liverpool the other day

And if you think these two are better than the worst 1st team player I have a unicorn to sell you

Yeah Miretti made a mistake, but was immense against Liverpool, Germany and Belgium. Mistakes are inevitable at that age.

Soule didn’t impress as much as we want, but he gave the assist and the pass to Chibozo that hit the bar, overall quite productive against a team that’s able to say that they’re one of the strongest youth teams in Europe.

To summarise everything; there are people who are willing to take the risk with youngsters and people who aren’t. It’s simple as that. We don’t have to come to the conclusion to the end of the season that we’re to tight for any risks; it’s a ongoing process over the course of the season.

Benfica beat RB Salzburg 6-0 in the final, so it's obviously a pretty special Benfica team, which is no surprise as their whole set up is based around developing players and they have been great at it for a number of years.

We've clearly got some talent in our own team but it's all about opportunities.
