Three goals to overcome Siena allowed the Primavera to be two steps away from cleaning out Group A in advance. Baroni’ lads showed again their unstoppable attitude, and in Tuscany clinched another fundamental victory. The clash finished 3-1 for Juventus, thanks to goals from Bouy and De Silvestro in the first half, and Spinazzola after the break, just a few minutes following the hosts’ goal.
This win allowed the young Bianconeri to obtain three fundamental points. Their direct rival Fiorentina slipped up at home against Livorno and Torino won the duel for the third place against Empoli: with these results, Juventus almost gained their place in the finals scheduled between end May and early June. The Bianconeri are now leading the table, with 49 points clinched in 22 games, while the Viola are in second position with 43 points and 23 matches, and the Granata are just behind with 40 points achieved in 23 encounters.
Juventus are nine points ahead of their ‘cousins’, and the gap can increase on Saturday when at 11:30am at the Chisola, the postponed derby will take place, just before chasing after the definitive leadership in order to confirm them as seeds in the playoff stages. However, the nip and tuck with the Viola, who will play Sampdoria on Saturday as well, sees Baroni’s lads be clearly favoured.
