The countdown towards the final stages of the Primavera championship is officially underway following today’s quarter-final draw in Gubbio.
Marco Baroni’s Primavera, who lifted the Viareggio Cup in February, will be aiming to boost their campaign with further silverware when they face Milan on Sunday 3 June.
“When you get to this point you need to think that every opponent is dangerous,” said Baroni. “Last season we saw Varese get to the final, while my Siena side got to within a whisker of the Scudetto a few years back.”
“We’ll come up against a quality Milan outfit, but we must only fear ourselves. We’ve known we’ll face this fixture for two months and we’ve been preparing well, even without those on international duty.”
The winners of the tie will then take on either Inter or Palermo in the semi-finals on Wednesday 6 June.
