Buoyed by recent results, the Primavera are back in European action. After coming from behind to draw at league leaders Genoa and their win in the derby, Marco Baroni’s men are building up to their third outing in the NextGen Series, against Manchester City on Wednesday.
Just like the Bianconeri’s previous two matches in this competition against Fenerbahce (2-2) and Paris Saint-Germain (2-0), the game will be played at Alessandria’s Stadio Moccagatta. You can watch it live on Eurosport at 7pm.
It promises to be an intriguing encounter against Manchester City, with lots at stake on both sides: first and foremost because former Juve man Attilio Lombardo will be in the dug-out as he – like another ex-Bianconeri star Patrick Vieira – works with the academy. But also in terms of the standings. A win on Wednesday would put Juve in the box seat and within touching distance of qualification.
Paris Saint-Germain currently lead the way with 6 points after 3 games. Juventus have four, one better off than City, with both sides having played only twice. Fenerbahce sit bottom with just a solitary point.
Juventus would like to make the following announcement to the press before Wednesday’s match, the last at the Stadio Moccagatta in the first phase:
Media outlets who wish to obtain accreditation for the game should email Alessandria Calcio at [email protected]. Given the size of the press box, we suggest only one (fully-registered) journalist per outlet attend.
