The Primavera guaranteed their place in the Next Generation Series knockout stages after rivals Manchester City slipped to defeat against Paris Saint Germain last night.
The French outfit, who now top Group 2 with 12 points after five games, dashed City’s qualification hopes with a narrow 2-1 success in Paris.
The result means that Marco Baroni’s side, currently placed on eight points but with a game in hand over the group leaders, could still mathematically win the round with successes in their final two fixtures.
Turkish side Fenerbache provide the next opposition in Istanbul on Wednesday 5 December, with a potentially decisive trip to the French capital scheduled for Wednesday 19 December.
